playing with the new ECM suite
pretty shot until…
you realise there’s 2 mig 29’s chasing you after dowing a PRC A50 and you’ve only got 1 9x left

Do not misinterpret @Seifer as saying we should turn off trees.

Playing with the new ECM suite in 4.37, keeping my AI wing outside the WEZ while I wake it up before having my 2 engage with a harm. While his harm is tracking the search radar, I target the fire control and manage to keep my wing outside the WEZ at all times. I did over G the jet in CAT III config which meant I couldn’t follow up with CBUs but it’ll come good with practice
Man I’m stoked at this release!! The ECM suite is such an improvement! I read the dash 1 on it about 5 times and hit the new training TE over and over. It truly changes what you can do in terms of weaseling and brings the strategy way up!
I’m also noticing a massive improvement in my CPU. Load times in the UI for things like recon are now instant, data cartridge saves are the same and I’m hitting and holding 140 fps in the 3d world (running track IR, I don’t own VR).
The team has absolutely nailed this release, I cannot wait to see the future of .37!
I’m for it. We now live in a world where we will see 4th Gen fighting alongside 5th Gen, with some 4th Gen + in the mix. It’s not the end of 4th Gen, it’s the beginning of new strategy and it’s the STRATEGY that bringing 5th Gen to BMS will add. The way air superiority is gained may change but wars are still won by putting a man with a gun on an objective.
I don’t particularly want to fly 5th Gen, but I do want to work my strategy around it being there. The J20 as an example keeps you well and truly on your toes and tactics need to change to deal with the threat.
The beauty of it I guess is the ability to tailor the sim to particular time periods, and find a solution that appeals to most.
An Israeli F35 squadron kicking the door down for the Sufa to deliver precision strikes? Hell yeah!!
That said, we’re at the mercy of those who develop the game, and regardless are extremely grateful for everything you guys collectively do for us. Just my opinion, and one of many
@Mosquitoe sweet, I’ve added you
@Mosquitoe I usually get on around 7:30pm Sydney time mate. Are you on Discord?
Working for me, just ran the flame out TE and arrested no issues
I’m gmt +11 (Sydney time) and fly most nights. Always keen

@CriticalMass
ok no support on BMS 4.36 ( old stuff!! after few months), but it’s not normal to release a product that still has bugs abandon it and pass a new one… it’s like saying: I release this car even if the brakes don’t work because I’m making a new one that will have probably the same defect. When one takes a product normally for a few years gets assistance isn’t it?
But it’s not a “new” product it’s a continuance of the old product. 4.37 is to 4.36 what a recall is to repair those car brakes (to use your analogy).
@Seifer said in custom falcon bms user.cfg constantly changing:
@lew0984 those are added by AL. And they will be written again if you let it override.
Ah, copy! Thank you
@MaxWaldorf so the User Config settings that now show “setup override” on them can be discarded?
@AnySajmon nice!! Stick with it mate, 4.37 is crazy good!
@Carbide you may be thinking the speed itself. It’s not recommended to go above 16x as it can do strange things to the campaign. Anyway, hope that works for you and it’s a pleasure mate!
Enjoy
@Carbide rather than using the “fly” screen to speed it up, try using the 16x option in the UI planning screen (top right hand corner). That way you can speed it right up and then slow it down or stop it around that 10 minute mark, set up your WDP and then enter from there.
