      My love for the F16 style throttle continues…

      … and this time it’s the ancient, all plastic TM TQS!

      alt text
      alt text

      I’ve upgraded the main throttle axis to hall sensor, using 3D printed parts, Allegro 1324 hall sensor and N52 magnet.
      Powered by Leo Bodnar BU836A + matrix board. All 32 digital inputs, 4 POV and 8 analog axis are fully utilised.
      Acrylic panels are laser cut/marked. The fonts are not perfectly white, but serve the purpose well.
      I especially love the F-ACK and MASTER CAUTION industrial switches… long smooth firm actuation, loud CLICK. I find myself mashing them just for the heck of it LOL

      This is WIP…but it’s 95% done. Just need to shorten the bottom row of 4 screws so they don’t stick out.
      Not shown in the above pics are 2 additional push buttons + 3-way pinkie switch on the throttle grip, and a PSP ministick replacement for the red “eraserhead” cursor slew. The ministick performs well in testing, but needs a large dead zone.

      In my design, switches like the LASER ARM/MASTER ARM and autopilot switches are excluded because I feel they are best located as a separate MISC PANEL button box.

      I feel this modded TQS looks much cooler than my Cougar mod…what do u guys think?

      Will update with more pics soon! 😃

      This is everyone’s father, that’s when it all started!
      I have one of these, it’s all dismantled!

      @Bayonet said in Logbook Score.:

      Hello Forum.

      Are logbook points always reduced due to a poor score or an infraction during a mission?

      Are logbook ranks also similarly reduced?

      Thanks,

      www.polycase.com
      www.digikey.com
      www.mouser.com
      you will need to make a small adjustment to fit the screen in the box.

      @Mylonite470
      *Here you will connect your Arduino to the computer using the USB cable that came with the Arduino. When connecting the Arduino, the operating system (OS) will detect a new device on one of the computer’s serial ports.

      Open the Arduino IDE. An empty project window will automatically open. Projects are called sketch by the Arduino IDE. The Arduino programming language is very similar to C/C++.*

      Capturar.PNG A.PNG
      We need to tell the Arduino IDE which type of Arduino board we are going to use (it doesn’t automatically detect the board type), and on which serial port. Arduino Uno is the board used in this project. To configure the board, access the TOOLS/BOARD/ARDUINO AVR BOARDS/ menu and select the Arduino you are using.

      Capturar.PNG B.PNG
      *Selecting the Arduino board model.

      The Arduino IDE also needs to know which serial port your board is connected to. To do this, access the TOOLS/PORT/ menu and select the correct port from the options listed. In Windows, these ports are named COM1, COM2, COM3, and so on. On linux/Mac these ports have strange names that read the name of a directory.
      I hope I helped you!
      Enjoy your DED and good flights!

      They have to train, have you thought about close air support (CAS), with troops on the ground, he can’t falter!
      Close air support is part of modern combined arms doctrine. It should be noted that military aircraft also have the ability to attack tactical ground targets that are not close to friendly troops; this kind of deeper attack on the enemy’s rear is also part of the air interdiction concept.

      Close air support requires excellent coordination with ground forces, given the high possibility of fratricide (friendly fire). In the more advanced Armed Forces, there are specialists for this type of coordination, such as the Joint Fire Observer (JFO, Joint Fires Observer), Joint Terminal Attack Controller (JTAC) (US) or Advanced Air Controller (FAC) (NATO), and the Forward Air Controller (FAC-A, airborne).
      Good training, good landings for you!*
