RE: Help! About Hornet Ramp Start
i know the hornet is an awesome plane, however in bms you really should learn how to ramp start the viper first, so you actually understand what is happening during the process. then move to the hornet and you will see how dave squeezed a viper into a hornet switchology.
Thanks for your advice, Sting.
Yes, I did learn viper full ramp start three years ago, and I learned some basic aero knowledge from that.
So when I noticed the hornet throttle won’t move – engine stops at 0.25 rmp, I realized there should be the idle on the throttle.
Like viper ramp start, should click the idle during the engine starts.
Have some basic knowledge of ramp start of viper, making me easier to familiar with the ramp start of the hornet.
I know BMS is not just a game, it’s world second to none flight simulation, I should be more serious to that.
I do appreciate the youtube video of hornet ramp start, it guides me well, I do thank the video sender, but flying more professional of hornet depends on my hard-experience.
When I was a boy, I dreamed of being a jet flight fighter, but wearing glasses made me understanding that my dream only can be true in simulation world.
I do appreciate all BMS dev team, they’ve done so much, and made my dream come true.
Sorry, Sting, maybe I said too much, but I really treated BMS seriously.
Have a nice weekend!

RE: Help! About Hornet Ramp Start
Or change your settings in the config “Idle Cutoff”. No more messing with the idle detent button.
Thanks for your advice, Redshirt. I solved this by using Jack’s advice.
Have a nice day!

RE: Help! About Hornet Ramp Start
Don’t forget Idle Detent switch. At .25 move your throttle forward and then click Idle Detent (ALT - I by default). This also happened to me and I even put a post on here a couple of days ago. The throttle will move after you click Idle Detent.
Thanks so much, Jack. Your answer fixed my problem.
Have a nice weekend.

RE: Help! About Hornet Ramp Start
There is a problem with the Super Hornets cockpit. Hopefully there will be a fix in the first update.
The cockpits are only really supported for the Legacy Hornets.

Help! About Hornet Ramp Start
I created a TE according to a suggestion in one thread in this forum so that could get a hornet ramp start: F/A-18E on CVN 70
When I ramp start, the both engines only 0.25, and it stops there, no matter how I put the thrust on stick,
the throttle in the cockpit doesn’t move, and after a few seconds, engine rmp drops from 0.25 back to 0
so I can’t start the hornet.Could anyone let me know what’s the problem, and how to fix it to let me have a full hornet ramp start?
Thanks a lot!

RE: BMS 4.33 and Hornets
On a side note… the Engine and fuel panels seem to be bugged out for me on a fresh install. All of the engine dials and the left fuel flow shows zeroes. Fuel display selection button doesnt work - cant see the external tanks. Am I doing something wrong or is everyone getting this?
same problem as you have, I am flying F/A-18E

RE: BMS 4.33 and Hornets
1.Create a TE
2.Task a carrier (under task force)
3.Task a flight from that carrier
4.Save TE
5.Enter TE
6.Select a seat in that flight
7.Load in to pit
8.Have funThis is what I am also looking for. Thanks.:p
