Hello everyone!
Recently, I had to reinstall Windows 10, after the OS updater decided that it would brick my PC during the update process.
Because of this, I had to either restore or reinstall all of my files via moving them from windows.old to my current pc. I had noticed though, that my Falcon BMS 4.33 U1 folder was left untouched (as the directory for the game isn’t in any of my program files folders, it is in the root C:/ drive itself) making me believe that it would be ready to play whenever.
After a couple of days, and severe boredom from my other games, I decided I would pay Falcon 4.33 a visit again, and booted it up.
I was able to launch the Hub, but when I attempt to actually launch the game, I get the error: “could not open registry key ‘hklm\software\benchmark sims\Falcon BMS 4.33 U1’, error code 2”
I tried to look for solutions on the forum, but I couldn’t find any that addressed the exact error code I received, or any that solved the problem. I ran the cleaner files provided on the forum, and I didn’t make any attempt to uninstall the game.
I checked my registry, and to my surprise, I was missing the Benchmark Sims folder in my HKLM/Software directory, which makes me believe that the registry key wasn’t carried over upon reinstalling windows.
Any suggestions or help would be appreciated!
