    • RE: Problem with installing update UI2 4.35

I too have the same problem I have had 4.35 installed and played for months. Tried to put in U1 and U2. The installers complain: Corrupt file: “4.35.1_Part_1.bsf”.
The original 4.35 installed from the installation directory into the game directory and played fine so it seems there must be a problem doing a check on these files.

I again extracted the original 4.35 base into the installation directory again and the incremental installer still complain. I’ve never had problems with Windows Defender affecting extracted zip files.

      SOLVED:
I finally realized the installers kept resetting the path to my 😄 Programs instead of my selected installation directory. All worked fine after that.

    • RE: Flight simmers beware "Students elbow"

Regardless of setup, hours of repetitive motion and firm grip on the flight stick would still cause stress and pain. Knowing your limit with planned periods of relaxation to free the stress and careful wrist flexing
to erase the muscle memory helps me. It also helps that F4 actually has a useful AP so I can relax and flex my ligaments during a flight. 100% manual games like Elite Dangerous I can only tolerate 1-2 hours a week.
The Saitek X65 with its sensitivity profiles have allowed me to keep gaming. Otherwise I would have had to stop many years ago. My flight stick is sitting on top of my server case at the same level about eight inches in front of my chair armrest.

    • RE: Questions about flight and package radio channels

If I understand correctly, the flight numbers in a package are in the order they have take off clearance. You can use VHF presets 1-4 to listen to each of these flights in your package and 6-10 to listen to packages 1-5.
I use VHF preset 11 to monitor broadcasts from all the aircraft near me and 12 if I also want to hear AWACS and ATC comms to those aircraft. 12 can be very noisy. I mostly use 11 so have that set as default for VHF in my data cartridge. There is documentation in the manual listing all the presets and what sim activities they monitor using the default frequencies. I think there is enough versatility in the presets they are useful for most AI/human comms without having to input frequency numbers unless human vs human requires extra security against spying.

    • RE: Some problem with bms that free falcon doesnt have them

F4 is a deep end of the pool type of sim. Don’t expect to master the sim in a few hours or days.
The campaign tends to require you have a fairly broad knowledge of the aircraft unless you are careful to only pick the missions you have practiced skill.
I personally found the converted 4.32 training missions more accessible and incremental than the ones which come installed with 4.33.

    • RE: Can't taxi off the runway

There are several manuals which cover general areas of the sim:
      <drive>:\Falcon BMS 4.33 U1\Docs

You need to re-enable the Nose Wheel Steering when you land. In a default installation, this is shift - /
NWS should be turned off my you when the speed tape activates in the HUD to prevent over-steering on take off.
In the air, this same command cycles your weapons.

    • RE: Installing 4.33 Problem

The most common and likely obstacle to installing BMS for beginners is confusing the installer folder containing the installation files with the target installation folder where the game runs from.
Once you get that sorted out, the installers get the job done with minimum fuss.

If running away as fast as you can is the most important thing, jettison those weapons and you can escape much faster. As Cat 1 you can pull more Gs and your radar signature to the enemy is smaller.

    • Falcon BMS 4.33.1 HUD Mod v3

Is there text based step by step installation instructions for this mod? It would be more helpful to me to have something detailed in text. The archive itself does not appear to have instructions.
