RE: F16V (Block 70)
I have explained tons of times this
So if you ask me the it would be better to stick to '90s and '80s
If you ask me there is 0 fun
I have to say I’m pretty sad that such things have to be explained again and again
Of course you can dream
why you can’t have them
Good luck for the proper modeling
:tjacked:
I have to be honest,
I personally find it disgusting to hijack a (any) thread and throw your personal believes about that F-16A model/cockpit/systems as a game-changer feature, while presenting and spreading show-stopping facts about a (any) possible future feature and negativism on even dreaming a wish-list feature or at least typing it here in a forum for sharing view with other interesting parties, individuals, devs, etc.

RE: questions related to detection: TFR, radar alt, clouds, fog , light ...

Low level flying is certainly still important, but:In the first Gulf War of 1991 the RAF were convinced that the main threat to their bomber force was from the medium level strategic Surface to Air Missile systems (SAMs) employed liberally throughout Iraq. With this knowledge they decided to employ their GR1/4 force in the low-level Airborne Interdiction (AI) role against runways and military targets using the JP233 and 1000 lb bombs. Within seven days they had lost 5 of their Tornados from a force of 45, all to anti-aircraft fire from in the vicinity of their targets (although 2 of these have never been confirmed). It was soon realised that a permissive upper air environment, through the targeting of any Integrated Air Defence system (IADs), would need to be established in order to enjoy uninterrupted targeting capacity in the medium level airspace and to keep aircraft clear of the lower altitude Man Portable Air Defence Systems (MANPADS) and small-arms threat in any future theatre.
That’s exactly what happens if you fly straight and level, no bank, no attitude change, no speed change. This was required for successfully releasing their specific payloads.

As I said. It’s not a doctrine anymore in the U.S. like in the Cold War.Why are you reffering to the US specifically? US doctrine changes with new capabilities created by weapon manufacturers. For WW countries not able to follow this game in that billion dollars game, TFR is a kicka$$ feature that does extremely well even nowadays.
And btw, TFR software is there now even on the latest US blocks, only the pods are removed from the math, but the capability is a 20 minute work to reinstall the pod at any time is needed.

And the British learned it the hard way with the Tornados in Desert Storm.NO. The British used a similar system in Iraq to fly straight and level and deliver special munitions for anti-runway job. You can also use iron bombs via ccrp there, YES you are done even for back then systems that can calculate your next position…
Nowadays TFR operators usually apply mavericks G, GBU for loft releases either via laser or gps. There is no other system that can fly you 100ft above water and 200ft above ground while you can safely piss in that pit suite lol

So what is the LPI mode for?
Exactly for what its name stands for, for the real system, Low Probability, less emissions when going against advanced enemies. You might see additional enhancements on the future in BMS towards these, when time comes.
Ok & I agree for IR missile with clouds
but how is it possible to be shot at by an SA7 or SA14 coming towards me in my frontal sector (10H-2H) when I’m in dense fog where I can’t see anything beyond 0.2nm and at night from my cockpit? I should add that I’m flying at 540kts…I can’t imagine a guy shooting at random without being able to at least visualize his target, and even then, by chance, if he were correctly positioned, the missile would be highly impacted by the meteorological conditions of the fog.
-> the only explanation is that the visibility criteria doesn’t impact AI : for AI, it is similar than clear day conditions…and so flying over columns or troops at night and in fog is suicidal in BMS!
Not saying that BMS is 100% correct here (neither the real mil sims), plenty room for improvements everywhere but expect good surprises in the future.
In real war conditions nowadays, any sa7/14 or stinger operator would use nvg-thermal and a radio talking with a L16 agent, then know exactly what to aim and fire.

RE: Simulated Aim-120s
“Captive” idea was originally created with always having in mind to use acmi/tacview for recording and evaluating afterwards. If not already remember to use acmi for finding out what happened.

RE: questions related to detection: TFR, radar alt, clouds, fog , light ...
in my opinion, what’s important is to know whether parameters influence detection:
- does activating the TFR on NORM contribute to being detected by GROUND-AIR or AIR-AIR threats? yes or no
No in BMS currently. In real you would need a passive system to detect your TFRadar emission, either an aircraft PESA radar, RWR configured to detect your band (payware feature upon customer request), an awacs sensor to share your a$$ through L16, or similar -advanced- dedicated sam system. AFAIK from our experience with this system (and nearby friends), not able to detect something for alerting or targeting. Plus the pilot is trained and aware of how to fly within terrain and how to maneuver to keep his emissions as close to the ground as possible.
- fog, clouds and night-time conditions reduce to being detected by GROUND-AIR or AIR-AIR threats? yes or no
Yes. You can find BMS YT vids with IR missile sensors locking clouds “sun reflections” or braking locks due to a cloud. TGP laser impacts too due to clouds. TFR radar will give flyups due to rain if not in WX mode.
- on the other hand, do post-combustion and/or lights used in night conditions favor to being detected by GROUND-AIR or AIR-AIR threats? yes or no
Yes. But in real, you better wear NVG’s to detect them far away, otherwise it may be too late already… lol

What Is BMS2TARGET?
Tested aircraft:
F-16 CM Blk 40
F-16 CM Blk 50
F-16 CM Blk 52
F-16 DM Blk 52Other variants of the F-16 may or may not function as expected. Let me know of any problems and I will endeavour to correct them.
Just added the new TQS on my setup, nice piece of HW!
Thank you for this great software, I am using it and works like a charm!
May I ask if there are plans to make this SW compatible with the rest F-16 variants in BMS? Is it something hardcoded on its code or something easy to populate myself? I would like to have the TQS lights options normally available to other theaters (EMF/HTO) and our variants there!
Thank you in advance!
