As long as there is not a bad WX Use -65 as those unit can be on a move/circlying around.
You can use it above the 12000ft, fire & forget (not LMAV), close to 100% PK.

RE: Dealing with the J20
F-16 1V1 has no chance against the J-20.
J-20 is very fast & some of its AA missiles have very long range and no RWR indication, BIG PROBLEM.
If there is F-15’s & F-22’s that is in the area and maneuvers towards the J-20’s, stay away for few minutes outside the AA combat area. Let the big boys handle the J-20.

So, according to your comments the main use for FLIR is a a night low-level flight.
I did use it on this situation and found that NVG is better for my SA, i can turn my head around and make a quick turn while watching ALT & ground obstacles. With FLIR it only on HUD/MFD, it a narrow view.
Maybe if on a target line ahead the FLIR is optimal.
@VDK your NVG image is way to dark. When i use NVG i can see the ground details clearly, even the trees . . .

Is using NVG makes FLIR option pointless ?
Or the question is, on what area of my mission, using FLIR is a preferred method over NVG use ?

I just installed the new 4.38 version.
From 1st impression, it is outstanding.
All the new features, the new campaigns, the graphics . . . fantastic.I started the 1st new campaign and made few missions, again i have seen here so many changes that all other sims dream to have.
4.38 is the best version of BMS.
Kudos to the DEV team and all who have made this great SIM.

[4.37.3] RWR sounds
I mainly fly the F-16CM50 but sometimes i like to fly the F-16I
SUFA
to use its special weapons.I have noticed that on the SUFA RWR there is an added sound to AD systems (especially the SA-2) that RWR find.
I know that those 2 types of F-16 have different RWR systems but i just want to check/confirm if F-16CM-50 should have those extra sounds or it should be like this as the real system ?

[4.37.3] JTAC operations - few questions
For the last few campaigns missions i focused on JTAC operations. I found things that i like to share and some questions.
- JTAC has its “eyes” on the only enemy unit around (SUPPORT, only trucks) but always calls it in a different names in the 9LINE info, why is that ? :
artillery platoon
enemy M1
enemy vehicle
enemy unit
enemy tank squad
enemy company- I found that on some cases JTAC answers with “unable”, i always contact it in the 30nm radius from the unit.
Is JTAC “unable” also can accrue when there is bad WX ?
Or maybe topography problems, when enemy unit is behind a mountain ?
Is JTAC is sophisticated in such way the WX or TOPO can effect its operation with the aircraft i fly ?

JETT switch on CMDS panel
I accidentally pushed it and all flares was gone.
Which bring me to the question, why we need this switch, why do i need to jettison all the flares on the aircraft ?

I checked all the flashes types and also used the NVG at night. All working fine.
My question is, besides the flash pattern types, is it has some functionality when using a laser guided weapon ? why use type 1 , 2 , 3 , 4 ?

Laser configuration
In the laser configuration there are a number of options.
The only option that i found minimal details in the manual is the “PTR”. Values 1-4 gives different blinking mode. But manual do not say what is the function of each blinking modes . . . is this just eye candy ?All other options in the laser configuration do not have info at the manuals. Again, eye candy or they have some function ?

[4.37.3] [KTO] Time on target (single-ship mission) - crucial to mission success ?
Made a few campaign missions.
Those missions were CAS using JTAC and ended all missions with destroying targets on the ground (3-4 vehicles every mission).All those missions rated by debrief as :
I always destroyed the vehicles that was marked by JTAC smoke & laser.
Logbook rating is decreased because of those “failed” missions . . .
Is the rating system broken or what ?

Using this subject to report that in 4.37.3 (as stated) cheongju & suwon are working fine now during hook landings.
Gimhae otoh has two runways, only one have cables, but still hook landing not working on this runway.
I’m sure DEV team will fix it in the the next 4.37 update or 4.38

More results after test i done (at night time . . .):
Because “M16 SQUAD” figure is actually a “MORTAR figure” i tried to found another one that is actually a soldier holding rifle.
I found that the `HQ M16 SQUAD’ figure is the one -Few problems :

I checked if this figures have a
collision
effect. They don’t -Testing continues

[4.37.3] Small graphic issue + NVG question
After update to U3 the OVRD on the FCR is highlights differently. I don’t know if that is like in RL but former highlight was better -
Is there a way to lower the intensity of the NVG, especially the big circle at the center of the HUD ? I have hard time to see the speed, closing speed and alt while duing AAR.
I tried to use the wheel that is circled in orange but the change is not big.

another idea on the subject . . . like the AI aircrafts follows the taxiways, if its possible (DEV?), make walking lines around the airbase that do not interfere to the aircrafts.
The personals will walk along this lines, stop for a smoke or small talk.I know, ideas are easy to create . . . make them a reality is the hard work
