How do you discipline TARCAP (AI) pilots?
How do you discipline TARCAP (AI) pilots?
When I’m building a campaign package and acting as a striker myself, I’ve noticed that fellow AIs assigned to TARCAPs are a little too enthusiastic.
Even if they limit the duration of the CAP to 5 to 10 minutes, even if I set their TARCAP points at a relatively long distance from the objective, they systematically engage bandits on the other side of the planet, and above all, they never stop attacking and engaging, sometimes far from the area they’re supposed to be protecting. In fact, at the start of a campaign, when there are many enemy aircraft, they only stop when they are destroyed, which is not tactically the desired effect.
Is there anything you can do to stop them from screwing around?
If not, could the programmers look into their kamikaze behavior (yes, I know, it’s easy to write)?

Thanks you for this very precise reply. -
HAWK and HARMs
Hello
Is it a deliberate thing that the AN/MPQ-50 (ALIC 430) of the HAWK ground-air system is all the time ignored by HARMs ?
Only the AN/MPQ-55 and AN/MPQ-46 (ALIC 230) attract them.
Thanks

RE: Best joystick for BMS?
@dandove
If you’re buying an FFSB-R3, I’d also recommend buying a F16 stick from Realsimulator (F16 Slide Grip). You can mount a Thrustmaster F16 stick on an FFSB and keep compatibility with this brand’s TARGET software (because Realsimulator’s programming software is far less powerful than TARGET), but the Thrustmaster stick isn’t designed to take as many pulls as you need for the FFSB, and after a few months it starts to play up: you end up with inaccuracy, which is a shame with an FFSB.
Thrusmaster’s Viper TQS is then also a good choice for the throttle … but it all adds up to a lot of money in one go. -
RE: Viper TQS HDG Controller
@Jetlag
As the world is made up of nuances, I would recommend the opposite: do not use AL to program your TQS and use TARGET .But yes
set g_nKnobAccelerationDelta 350 (or 250) //Increases movement of values when HSI HDG or Course knobs are rotated
must be in your Falcon BMS User.cfg. -

So thank you very much and my apologies.

RE: Jammer questions [Can't lock a jamming aircraft until 10 NM]
Bonjour @Mav-jp
There are probably good reasons for all this, and the balance must obviously not be easy to find.
But, in fact, you deliver a new air-to-air weapon system with each version or update, and what has just been found means that we can no longer trust, in addition to our feeling that it has changed, the assertion that nothing has changed (F3 or ECM).
Worse still, no information on the changes.
It’s not as much fun as all that, for the “lambda” pilot, each update, to go through 20 to 30 hours of testing with his friends to find out what hasn’t changed but has.
It would be a pity to disgust us. And given what I’m expecting to hear from the back of the class, that’s starting to sound like a lot.
Realism OK, but gameplay a bit too please: it’s “also” a game, and changing rules without information is tiresome.

@Mikyjax
Your first two question. I have no reply for J11. -
RE: New implementation of ARH (Active Radar Homing logic for Fox3)?
In general, I kill a lot of planes full of oil (which they have saved for nothing ) .
So speed : the life.
-
RE: New implementation of ARH (Active Radar Homing logic for Fox3)?
I found it again: the straight line (with speed) is life.
It was fun and quite surprising for the opponent. -
RE: New implementation of ARH (Active Radar Homing logic for Fox3)?
Also no longer possible to avoid a missile by heading straight towards it, nose down.
Zut alors.

RE: Twin engine throttles don't work in 3D
Thanks MaxWardolf.
But I really think that it is not a “simple” thing in our configurations. It"s a malicious one : axis present and operate in UI and not in 3D …
