      I dont know why DCS cant get the exterior model correct!
      There is is no hump on the DCS model aft or the canopy. see this at ( 0:13 ) video time code

      The hump looks pretty clearly visible to me in this video

      from 0:09 to 0:12.

      I’m glad I could help. Jan described the process in his instructions, but let me expand on it for anyone that doesn’t quite understand how those files work.

      The folder called “KoreaObj_HighRes” contains some texture files that are only loaded if you have “High Resolution Textures” enabled in the config. If you don’t have that option checked, then the textures from KoreaObj are used instead. If you have High Resolution Textures enabled but the sim doesn’t find that particular texture in KoreaObj_HighRes, it falls back to looking in KoreaObj.

      So how is that relevant to the JanHas models? Say you pasted the JanHas textures files to KoreaObj but you have High Resolution Textures enabled…this will result in the texture files from KoreaObj_HighRes loading instead of the ones you pasted in KoreaObj, resulting in very strange, ugly results as many of you may have already seen. On the other side of that same coin, say you pasted the textures in KoreaObj_HighRes but then you don’t have High Resolution Textures enabled…you’ll get the same ugly result.

      That’s why you always need to ensure you put textures in their correct location according to your settings. Unless you’re running on absolutely ancient hardware, the high resolution textures will have a negligible effect on performance. This is why Jan recommends in his document that you simply cut the contents from KoreaObj_HighRes and paste them in KoreaObj as it will drastically simplify the model installation process by only having to deal with files in a single folder.

      Assuming you mean LOD Editor…Nope, it’s not needed. The new method of incorporating new 3D models is so much quicker and easier 😄

      You are not the first person to report that, but I have not been able to replicate it so unfortunately I do not have a solution for you 😞

      As a follow up to this, I figured out how to use MC for finding the aircraft textures but not textures for anything else. Looks like the best option is to probably follow starrats guide on how to use LE with 4.34.

    • Anyone else have stuttering particle effects?

      So I’m running at 60FPS and everything is super smooth, no FPS dips, no stutter…except for the particle effects like flares. When I dump flares the frame rate counter shows 60 the whole time and every other aspect of the sim is smooth as butter, but the flares look like they’re falling at 1 FPS. It’s quite strange. Has anyone else experienced this?

      So has anybody gotten this working with with Saitek Combat Rudder pedals? I look at the manual axis assignments in the config screen, and I can’t reassign the toe brakes or rudder axis.

      That’s unfortunate, and even worse I don’t really have any idea why that would be the case. Maybe you’ve already tried these, but here are a few of my ideas to troubleshoot:

      • Verify the code for the pedals in DeviceDefaults.txt (seems an unlikely culprit)
      • Verify the pedals are present in DeviceSorting.txt (I keep my pedals directly underneath Thrustmaster Combined)
      • Double check that the pedal axis assignments can be changed when not running my profile to exonerate potential hardware issues.

      Let me know if any of that is helpful… :-?
