    Rypley

    @Rypley

Hey! Name's Gabriel, AKA Rypley here and Night Rider on my SoundCloud, When I'm not working, I'm on my pc slowly completing my 3D F-16A Cockpit project, or making house or synthwave music.

I'm an audio enthusiast, book worm, lame cook, a DIYer when I need to and a person definitely into details.

      Hello! Long time no see!

So I’m gonna cut to the chase, I’ve done 90% of the overall modelling work, I was going to call it 90% but after seeing how some parts could definitely get some justice, the other 10% will be me checking and redoing models where’s necessary, as of right now, I just remade for the 4th time since doing this project (or 5th?) the glareshield 'cuz it did need some remodelling, don’t worry, I don’t think I’ll need to remodel more than 20% of it… Probably, my standards since starting have definitely gone up a lot so you can expect some quality stuff right 'ere.

Unfortunately I haven’t got pictures yet for this post but I’ll update ASAP😜

      Here it is!
      The old glareshield:
      Old Glareshield
      The new one:
      new glareshield 1.PNG
      new glareshield 2.PNG
As you can see it needed a heavy rework, also, made the emer. lights on the left a little bit elongated and less tall
(notice how the HUD camera cable clips through the center panel, that’s because that’s getting redone again.

The 1980’s. General Dynamics’ most famous aircraft, the F-16 Fighting Falcon, is now an international 4th generation fighter aircraft, not only spanning the North American continent, but also the South American continent, The European and Asian continent.
The state of the art design grants the aircraft and sleek and beautiful design, but the F-16 not only has the looks, but also the capabilities needed to exceed both Air to Air and Air to Ground aircraft and more.
Nimble, Agile, Fast, Fierce, many names, one aircraft. The F-16 Fighting Falcon.
And as war technology advances, so does the F-16.
The fourth iteration of the F-16, the F-16A/B Block 15 coupled along with the Operational Capability Upgrade, brings a lot the fight, Including a new horizontal stabilizer design for increased maneuverability, a much capable AN/APG/66 version 2 radar for increased reliability, the new secure Have Quick II secure UHF radio for a 100% secure communication between the pilot and mission elements, and much more.

      The F-16, Just got better.
      It’s not a contradiction, It’s the F-16.

Hello Pilot! And Welcome To The F-16A/B 3D Cockpit Project!

This is my attempt at creating the legendary Block 15 of the F-16 family, With a HQ model and HD textures, This project aims to give you the best experience the F-16 has to offer and also a nice new challenge at getting used to the almost complete new cockpit layout of the Block 15.

      Progress

      Center Console: 95%
      Pedestal: 95%
      Canopy: 80%
      Left Consoles: 100%
      Right Consoles: 100%
      Seat: 90%
      UV Mapping Textures: 0%
      Overall Progress Percentage: 80%

      F.A.Q.

      When will it be released?
It’s quite hard to really say, Since I’m doing it when I’m free and want to ensure it’s a quality 3D model, I’d say in 3 to 4 weeks :p.

Will you model the back seat in the B variant?
Right now, It’s a no, there’s no twin seat player modality in BMS MP so it’ll be useless to create a part of a cockpit that will never be seen by normal means and will have an impact in performance, although this might change if future releases allow for twin seat flight.

Will it include the original avionics of the A/B models?
This is a feature that at least myself can’t include due to the lack of coding knowledge I have and the lack of avionics documentation, but if someone does it, I’ll gladly include it.

What can I do to help the development of this project?
Any Info/Photos/Videos/Sounds of the F-16A cockpit are appreciated!

Once done, will it be included in the Vanilla BMS on the next version?
I’m not in the BMS Dev team, so no, at least no by me, but if the dev team wants to include it, they have my full permission to include it and modify it (if necessary for implementation).

Will you include a complete pilot model? E.G: moving arms?
Since in 4.34 and upwards the pilot model can be toggled on and off, I’ll try to make working moving arms that moves with the throttle and stick.

Will it include an external model?
No, that is already covered by JanHas exceptional F-16A model, If you want to have the external model, Then JanHas’ website is where you should go

Will you release preview like version for us to test in-game?
Yes, When I reach a point where I believe in-sim feedback is needed for further corrections, I’ll release test versions.

@Xeno I’m all right luckily, the project has had some progress but it’s kind of in the back burner due to work and other issues, though I still work on it from time to time, no idea of when I’ll be able to go “coming in hot” again but slowly and steadily it’s getting a wee bit of progress😉

Plus, I’m saving for a brand new rig so I can make progress easier with newer blender versions so it’s one of the reasons I don’t work as often on it.

This weekend I had enough time to sit and start modelling the right console and I’m pleased to tell ya it’s finally done! Which brings me really close to finishing the 3D modelling aspect of my pit! For more info please do check the first post, Progress tracking has been updated.

      Happy new year folks!
I’ve been remaking the whole center console for about 2 days now and I’m pleased to tell you that I’ve cleaned up the models and the overall tri count went from 309k to 253k and that’s only on the front console!, I’ve expect to have all the existing models cleaned up of unnecessary faces and parts that won’t be visible under any circumstances soon so i can jump onto the right console, wing models, and if possible, fully working arms that will move with the throttle and slightly with stick (it’ll be a feature you can toggle on or off in conjunction with the existing pilot model in BMS)
Anyhow, here’s a quick preview of how looks atm!

notice the missing stick, with those extra 50k tris, I’m planning to remake it and add much more details to it!

      @Zero900:

Even without textures, this looks so freakin’ good! I really hope you can finish it. I can’t see why the BMS Devs or the Theater Devs, shouldn’t integrate this amazing work into their own.
The future of BMS is bright my friends! 🙂

Oh trust me BMS future is always bright!
      @molnibalage:

Is there any plan to modell the old type of display of the F-16A?

Avionics wise, not by me at least, modelling the SCP and REO avionics are something only the BMS devs can do (since for that I’d need access to BMS code and well, I’m not a BMS dev, also I lack the coding knowledge, but if someone is up to the task hopefully we’ll be able to see it in the future

ENG: So, I’ve started the process of making 3 different paintjobs of the Venezuelan Vipers:
The classic paintjob (the normal all Venezuelans and Foreigners know.), The CEO-DIR 119 paintjob (A modernization that the Air Force planned to be done on 2018 but it hasn’t been made yet on the F-16s), and finally but not least one I’m designing that will remain secret until release.;)
