So did the A/A training missions and manual get updated yet or did it turn into 4-5 falcon years?

RE: Begging for help, ready to give up.
i can send you my config file if you would like. Then all you need to do is import it in to the BMS Key File Editor then export back user/config folder. The only thing you should need to do is make sure the fighter stick is controller1 & Throttle is controller 2 in the DX Settings tap. They both will be primary input devices. My profile would includes trackIR recenter. PM me your email if you want me to send it…

RE: Begging for help, ready to give up.
.
I have my 3x 1080p displays setup in nvidia surround with bezel correction. Thats about where all the good new ends.
I can’t seem to get my controls to work. I have a CH Fighterstick and Pro Throttle. Yes its running in mapped mode. Yes I have saved and applied the profile.
I run with 3 monitors just like you, works great…you just need the horse power to support all three.
As far as setting up the controller, I have the same CH products and CH paddles, they work great with BMS with the Key File Editor. Do yourself a solid favor and use the included Key File Editor, learn it and you will be very thankful once you do. Its not really that hard to figure out if you stick your nose in it. Good luck!

RE: MAVs
Actually, no. Check out p.148 of the -34.
- if Mav in Pre, can do a TGP handoff, or FCR, whichever is SOI
- I don’t believe TGP would handoff in VIS, but you wouldn’t need to. VIS is like BORE, but with a slewable LOS via the wpn page.
So in VIS no boresighting or handoff is required then.

MAVs
Can someone tell if this sounds about right.
In PRE mode handoff can only be achieved with FCR lock? The missile is slaved to the FCR. Boresighting is required?
In VIS mode handoff can only be achieved with TGP lock? The missile is slaved to the TGP. Boresighting is not required or is it?
In BORE there is no handoff since the missile is used to lock and guide itself to target.
What strategic value or purpose does PRE give you over the other modes. Maybe bad weather or get in quick and get out quick because of heavy defenses…

TEs - setting up extra time on target?
How do you create loitering time at a target/steer-point. i am creating my own training missions so I can have max control over parameters. For example I want to take 10min or so doing AGM work at target but ultimately fail the mission/s due to timing. What is the best way to set this up? Thanks…

RE: TE KaesongStrike Loadout
@jc1:
I’m still using 4.33 not u1. I converted KaesongStrike with MC v4.9.189 but it still CTD with 4.33. Did it work for you with 4.33?
No i did not covert it over for 4.33 just 4.33U1 but I dont think that should matter. Are you sure you converted it correctly? Make sure you have all the directories sorted out correctly.

RE: TE KaesongStrike Loadout
You have to use mission commander to convert it to 4.33 U1. I converted it and it works fine. It did the same thing to me at the load-out screen before i converted it. Works fine after conversion.

Can VAC emulate real radio use protocol?
I was thinking of setting up VAC for radio calls but I have not found a good guide or an answer a important question that will make it or break it for me. Is there a way to make voice commands dependent on using the mic with proper band/channel/frequency…instead of a generic open mic situation. If so can someone point me to a guide or somewhere I can read more about how to set up this type of configuration.

RE: 4.33 UI vs 4.33 FPS
Falcon BMS Cfg, change the setting to “0” see the sample here
set g_bExportRTTTextures 0have an nice day
Wow setting g_bExportRTTTextures 0 has given me an additional 25-40fps…thanks for this little tweak.

RE: 4.33 UI vs 4.33 FPS
Looks like I got It close to where it was in 4.33. I used some of the setting found here http://s51.photobucket.com/user/cptpfsuk7/media/afrrrr_zpsc04e92c5.png.html hopefully this can help some one else.
All is good again!

RE: 4.33 UI vs 4.33 FPS
Tweaking has not fixed the fps hit for me. I once ran 3 monitors at 60-80fps its down to 40-50 on the harm training TE. On the AGM-65 Training TE in 4.33 I would get 40-50s now 20-30fps. Big change in the wrong direction for me but going to make it work somehow.

RE: 4.33 UI vs 4.33 FPS
True. In the thread I posted, we discussed that same set up. Disabling SLi/Xfire but using multi monitors through multiple cards got several guys up and running well.
It worked good for my 3 monitor setup in 4.33. The new 4.33 U1 cant say yet for sure except I have some issues,

RE: 4.33 UI vs 4.33 FPS
I am using 2 x 680s. With 4.33 i was balls to the walls as well. i used to get run 50-60 with vsyn holding me down at 60fps. i now get 30s - 50fps with stutter. If i go external view i jump up to 90-120. It seems to be in cockpit where i am seeing the biggest difference.

RE: 4.33 UI vs 4.33 FPS
4.33.1 has way better performances than 4.33!
Well not for me rig. looks like i have to tweak away.
How do i uninstall, I dont see any of my BMS installs 4.32, 4.33, and 4.33 1 in my windows uninstaller? I wonder if something got porked?

4.33 UI vs 4.33 FPS
I was wonder if the same exact graphical setting in Nvidia control panel and in sim should have similar fps result? My 4.33 UI install is not performing as well as the 4.33 version. I was wonder if i should just reinstall or is there something new that might be causing a hit to the performance and stuttering performance.
I tweaked the 4.33 install with 3 screen running in SLI.

RE: Resolution Fix
Simple quick test using Nvidia inspector show VRAM usage really no different in clouds/bad weather vs clear skies. Usage was 1750mb each for both cards. They seem to split the load. So maybe they both are being used and thats 3500mb men usage.

RE: Resolution Fix
Micro-stutters IIRC are specially a symptom of SLI, have you actually tried without it? May be a good trade off. Also I’m curious how much of a bump you get with SLI, might make me go for a Crossfire with my 4360x1600 setup.
Also what is your memory size? At my resolution and settings BMS uses 3700ish MB of VRAM, if you have less than 4gb of VRAM on each card (not both total) you maybe running out of VRAM in the soup with the super sampling. If that is the case you might try a more VRAM friendly AA method.
I have 2 x 680 GTXs 4096mb total of 8192mb. I have not tried it with just one card, I am pretty sure it would not do as good with all the aye candy…1st card runs the center monitor and the other card runs the 2 outside ones.
I only seem to get the micro stutter when fps starts getting to low 30s and below. But I have not tested that have low flying as remember from the past that was when this was more likely to occur.

RE: Resolution Fix
1. I don’t think it’s a good idea to drop your resolution in order to gain more FPS. I see the idea here, but IIRC, monitors are optimized to run at a set resolution. Running at a non-native res will mean worse performance (lower fps) or worse displays (fuzzy images?).
2. What other settings do you have turned on? You can disable stuff via the in-game UI or via the launcher. Turning a few things off or at lower settings will improve FPS.
3. Not all games benefit from SLI/Crossfire. Even those that do benefit from multi-GPU setups will do so in different manners… others will only see a few percentage of increase while some games will show significant improvement. I’m not sure where BMS is in this regard but I would not think it would benefit much from SLI/Crossfire simply because of the age of the game — for the same reason jumping from a quad-core to a 6-/8-core setup won’t see much gains.Check out my test thread to see how BMS runs with a single-GPU setup.
Hey Ice, did you use to fly a lot of Lockon back in the day? If so you might remember me, we had a lot of battles. I went by 44th Eagle then.
Anyways, i do see that sli does give me good fps across 3 monitors at 5760 x 1080. Without sli it would be a slide show with all the eye candy on plus forced Anistropic filtering 16x / antialising 32x csaa /supersample 4x. I do turn off the smoke shadows in the config. I get 55-80fps with sli with these settings.
If i get into heavy clouds and inclement weather like in training mission 13 AGM-65, I drop down to 25-38fps with micro pauses using trackIR. So after extensive testing and logging graphical settings/findings the solution is to simply turn of HDR. It seems the heavy clouds and/or inclement weather are a heavy draw with HDR on. After I turned off HDR only i get 50-65 fps when in the soup.
Just posting this to help the next guy.
