Icer: I get the hour glass for 2 seconds and then nothing. There does not appear that any of the little Microsoft program are needed for AL so I have no idea what I am doing wrong.

RE: Ice’s Falcon BMS Profile Updated for BMS 4.35
I have the profile working fine and my warthog HOTAS has been programed with the new ICE key file. However, I have only used the first layer of each button for commands. I tried to understand the shift function in the Ice key file but could not figure out how to work it. I noticed that in Section 5.11 of the key file in the game there is a command for STICK: PINKY SWITCH (DX SHIFT). Is that how I implement the shift function? If so, how do I indicate which other commands that will use the shift function?

RE: Falcon BMS Alternative Launcher (Easy Setup, Keep Joystick Assignments)
Yes. I am running 4.35 and 1.60. I tried your method and no joy. I guess I am too thick to get this to work. Will keep trying though. When I click on the shortcut, nothing happens.

RE: Falcon BMS Alternative Launcher (Easy Setup, Keep Joystick Assignments)
I am using AL for the first time. The instructions state:
I recommend make backups of the registry.
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/SOFTWARE/BenchmarkSims/Falcon BMS 4.33 U1
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/SOFTWARE/Wow6432Node/BenchmarkSims/Falcon BMS 4.33 U1
I can find the second item above but cannot locate the first item. My HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/SOFTWARE file goes from AUEP to Caphyon with nothing in between. What am I doing wrong?

RE: Ice’s Falcon BMS Profile Updated for BMS 4.35
oakdesign: I know that the shift function has nothing to do with Helios, I just didn’t want to screw things up. Therefore, I will try the Alternative Launcher and your 2. If using Alternative Launcher and/or needing to change keyfile bindings method.

RE: Ice’s Falcon BMS Profile Updated for BMS 4.35
It has been a long time since I played BMS and I no longer can use Target so how I would like to be able to implement the shift function when using Ice’s key profile and this Helios profile. Any thoughts?

RE: Ice’s Falcon BMS Profile Updated for BMS 4.35

I have been flying DCS with CZ’s Helios profiles for some years. While I used to fly BMS, I stopped several years ago. Out of curiosity, I decided to see what has been created by Helios profile makers with the latest version of BMS.
When I found your site, I loved what you did to improve Ice’s old profile and immediately installed your profile and BMS. Everything seems to be working OK, but I do have some questions on the key file kerfuffle. The issue of key files in BMS seems to be a little more confusing than in DCS.So here are my questions:
First, my basic setup:
Warthog stick and throttle (with a Virpil stick base so no target files work)
TM MFD’s but I probably will not use them as I prefer the Helios profile
CH rudder pedalsSecond, my questions:
In your readme file, you state:
Falcon BMS 4.35 Installation
3. Depending on which HOTAS profile you intend to use copy the relevant keyfile from the Setup \FalconBMS Keyfiles folders to the Falcon BMS 4.35\User\Config\ folder.
4. Load and save the chosen keyfile in Falcon BMS 4.35 Setup.Which key files are you referring to? In the BMS folder, under 01 Input Devices>03 HOTAS setup>TM Warthog there is a file “BMS-Basic TM Warthog.key.” Is this the correct one?
Next, in Helios, in the Falcon setup, the only Falcon version allowed is BMS 4.34. Is that ok?
In the Falcon key callbacks>key file, I put "E:\Falcon BMS 4.35\User\Config\BMS - Full. Key” Is that ok?Am I correct that the key profiles for what is used for the Falcon BMS 4.35 Setup in the game does not have to be the same as the callbacks key file in Helios?
Two other minor issues. How does the new anti-skid switch work? I cannot seem to find the button for it under the label. In your Rotary Switch Touch Zones, you have a picture of the Aux Comm panel. I could not find it the profile.Once I get the above sorted out, I will then try to understand the issues with your stuff and the Alternative Launcher, but that is for another day.

Is just having Falcon.exe on your disk sufficent?
I am just getting back into BMS and in prior days, just having the file Falcon4.exe on my drive was sufficient to allow BMS to install. Today, when I tried to install BMS, it asks for the Falcon install. While I still have my original Falcon 4.0 disk, I no longer have a CD drive. Do I have to buy the full falcon game again and download it over the internet?
Solved the problem. Used my wife’s computer that has a CD drive and copied the files to a USB drive and the transferred them to my computer.

RE: Track IR - Natural Point Software doesn't start in WIN 10 64
I had a similar problem when I upgraded to Win10 and the issue turned out to be the fact that Trackir started in the upper left corner of my screen with in barely noticeable little box. It turned out that tracker was there all the time, but I just didn’t see it because the box was so small. I am sure that this is not your issue, but one never knows!!!

RE: Saitek Pro Flight Rudder Pedals
I use CH pedals and to allow my feet to rest on the pedals, I set the dead zone to 90% in DCS. Not sure how to do that in BMS.

RE: YAME64 suite
On page 67 of the current Yama manual it states that for the UFC to run correctly in Yama you need the correct BMS callbacks, but it does not list the callbacks. I am using the DX setup from 4.34 and below are the callbacks listed in the key for for the DX profile. I assume that these are sufficent for Yama when Yama gets updated to 4.34. correct?

RE: Rudder Petals Saitek or Thrustmaster
I have had the CH pedals for over 7 years and recently bought the cheaper TM pedals and used them for awhile. After one month, I went back to the CH pedals. Enough said. When I recently had an issue with the Ch pedals, they sent me a replacement part at no charge (and no instructions).

RE: -Ice's Falcon BMS Helios Profile Updated… Again!
mantaray is correct in that the current Ice profile is missing all of the new key commands in 4.34 such as the IFF stuff. I am in the process of adding the new key commands to ICE’s key file so that they can be used on a button box such as the 3rd and 4th MFDs that some of us have. While you cannot change the panels, at least you will be able to control the new panels with the button box and not have to click in the game cockpit.
Perhaps someone more knowable than me in Helios could then figure out how to do something with the new keys in Helios, but for me, the button box will be a good stop gap.
I have no idea how to handle the new maps. -
RE: A Guide to Morphine’s Profile for BMS 4.33 and Beyond
Just coming back to BMS and trying to recall how to read a target script. However, the script for the Mic Switch really confuses me. Could someone go line by line unshifted and shifted and explain to me what each line does. Morphine’s diagram is a little cryptic. Somehow, I have to get VAC to work with this switch so I need to understand the purpose of each key to modify something to make Vac work.
Thanks in advance.//Mic Switch

RE: Target issues never stop comming
Today I examined my computer files and for the first time noticed that i seem to have a double install of target, one in program files and one in program files (x86). So I spent about an hour going through all of my directories and uninstalling every instance of target, then I reinstalled target and for the first time in months target worked. Did I solve all the problems? Not sure. The target script stills says that it cannot find device 403 but that is because I don’t have it. 402 is the WH joystick and 404 is the WH throttle.

Target issues never stop comming
I sent this to TM support:
As TM support requested, I uninstalled and reinstalled Target and the same thing happened. As soon as I clicked the menu button in the script editor, target would close. Today, I decided to click a target profile and have it open with target and it did. the profile compiled, but when I hit the run button I got the following errors:
"Error (internal) cannot associate a filter with the selected USB HID device “VID_044F&0404” and
"Error (internal) cannot associate a filter with the selected USB HID device “VID_044F&0402”
“USB HID device with hardware id “VID_044F_0403” cannot be found.”
I HAVE NO VID_044F_0403 LISTED AMONG MY 6 CONTROLLERS (4 MFDS, WH THROTTLE AND JOYSTICK).
0404 IS THE THROTTLE “USB\VID_044F&PID_0404&REV_0100” ANDO402 IS THE JOYSTICK " USB\VID_044F&PID_0402&REV_0100"
ANY SUGGESTIONS?
