RE: Falcon BMS - The PEOPLE's F-16 Sim That Refuses to Die
The DNA of Falcon BMS isn’t just about code or a well-modeled aircraft.
It’s a set of core principles that have shaped its reputation and drawn a community of passionate, demanding sim enthusiasts. The real question is: how far can we push immersion without compromising the realism that sits at the very heart of Falcon BMS?
Falcon has always stood apart — not because of flashy visuals or user-friendly interfaces, but because it has consistently modeled a credible, rigorous, and demanding air combat environment.
You don’t just fly to “feel” something — you fly as part of an integrated mission, within a complex, unforgiving battlespace where shortcuts aren’t an option.Today, I believe BMS is at a pivotal crossroads.
New talents are joining BMS— and that’s a tremendous strength. But at the same time, we must be careful not to dilute the hardcore sim identity that has always defined Falcon:-
Realism over immersion
-
Complexity over spectacle
-
Simulation over video game
Let’s move forward with next versions— but without forgetting what made Falcon BMS so special in the first place.
Thank you to all those who take part and also to those who have made this simulator so exceptional!!!

RE: fuselage lights swith off & light effect disable when FLIR is ON
I have just found the origin of this issue : it’s the FLIR bright knob on my ICP (I specify that it’s correctly assigned on New launcher)
when I vary it, it modifies the aircraft’s exterior lighting when the FLIR is on OPERATE! -

fuselage lights swith off & light effect disable when FLIR is ON
I noticed that fuselage lights switch off & light effects too (light reflection) are disable when the FLIR is enabled,…

bug lights F16 block 50
it seems that the lights management system of the F16 block 50 is broken: the lights don’t work as they should …
more specifically, this is for the following cases COVERT ALL & COVERT FORM
- upper fuselage formation off when it should be on COVERT BRIGHT for all cases (BRT / OFF / DIM)
- no difference in “IR light” intensity between COVERT DIM & COVERT BRIGHT

RE: Shared Memory bit "solenoidStatus"
The DN LOCK REL button, which is implemented in 4.35 is a mechanical bypass of the landing gear
handle solenoid. The solenoid prevents the handle to be moved inadvertently but may fail. The
mechanical bypass is then used to move the handle. Please note, these two actions do not have to
happen simultaneously. A Sim delay was introduced to allow the pilot to perform both actions
subsequently rather than simultaneously for obvious mouse and keystroke issues the real pilots (or
cockpit builders) don’t have to take into account.
On the ground, once WOW is activated, the landing gear cannot be retracted unless this safety button
is depressed. In the air, this button allows lowering the handle in case of a solenoid failure.
The WOW switch (Weight On Wheels) is implemented. Once weight is on the gear struts the WOW
switch is activated allowing or terminating various system functions. One of these functions is the lock
of the gear handle in the down position. This protection can be overridden by the DN LOCK REL
button as the name implies. Use with … caution -
