RE: Santa's wishlist for BMS
First, there is a thought about air defenseā¦ In reality SAMs are combined into one system. The Falcon seems not to be. For example, two Patriot batteries can fire four missiles at the same target at the same time, which is a waste of missiles and not realistic. Or, for example, have two sa-17 batteries, your element fires eight AGM-88 at one, and the second battery wonāt help the neighboring one shoot them down.
SAMs in fact only attack the missiles that target only them. That is, detecting a 12x JASSM, the S-300 will do nothing.
I would suggest networking them with some sort of command post, meaning they should know which jets are already under attack, and not waste missiles, and be able to help other batteries defend against ARMs. It would also be nice for SAMs to be able to shoot down all types of A-G missles, protecting infrastructure and troops. And if you destroy the command centers, the air defense will be disorganized.
Second, the AI Missions. I donāt understand why aircraft, after launching stand-off weapons, fly to the target instead of turn and flying back. That is why the flights get shot down, because after launching HARMs, they do not come back, but fly to the target, and other SAMs shoot them down. It is the same with attacking ships. And even more so when a stratagic bomber fires cruise missiles and flies to the target.
In my opinion, these two things made the game more realistic. Maybe Iām wrong, or maybe some of these things are difficult/impossible to make. Or no one just doesnāt want to take the time to do it. Devs will do what they want anyway.

RE: Are backseaters pilots?
@Atlas
Well, it depends on the plane. Some ACs have navigators who canāt fly the jet simply because they donāt have a handle. The flight training of these guys depends on the country. I can speak for Russia, the navigators there can fly. And even land the plane, but only if theyāre very lucky.
Although some planes are just very āfunā to fly from the back seat. I mean the MiG-31. I guess the view from there is not very good.
If the navigator sees anything there at all up front. -
The new UI is too small for me
First of all, I would like to thank the BMS team for their amazing work. I was really looking forward to 4.37 and it was a New Yearās gift for me. And everything is great except one thing: the new UI is too small. Maybe Iām just blind, or my 1366x768 resolution isnāt right for the game, but itās a little hard to read.
My question is, is there anything I(or anyone else) can do about it? Sure, I can play it that way, but itās pretty uncomfortable.
Example below, and so with everything in the game: settings, logbook, mission schedule, etc.

RE: Santa's wishlist for BMS
Iād like to teach SAM operators in BMS to want to live (or at least try to keep their batteries operational). I mean, they might turn off the radars when they are attacked by ARMs ( of course, HARMs have INS, but a long flight using it will result in a miss). They could generally turn on radars less often, relying on external targeting, and only turn on FCR for attack if they can receive it of course, otherwise acting independently. And finally, shoot down more types of munitions. In BMS, SAMs only react to ARMs. So far, air defense in BMS is an easy target (except Sa-10 and 11, they could shoot down HARMs).

RE: Detecting missiles & shooting it down?
The ability to shoot down missiles in the BMS would be more for fun than for real use, I guess.

Airstrikes in the campaign
Hi!
I have questions about attacks on some ground targets in the campaign.
Does it make sense to attack:
- HQs?
- Bases?
- Radar (EWS) sites?
- Radio towers?
- Depots?
- Power plants?
- Factories?
- Ports?

RE: IRWR?
@VDK
It may seem strange, but on CAP missions I fly alone. I donāt like to worry about the wingman.I know I need fire flares before pass and after the pass. Otherwise, the MANPADS (or short range SAM) make the nozzle hurtā¦ Yes, it doesnāt always help. Sometimes the launch is so close that there is only time to say āOH SHIā¦!ā
Dodging a missile is not too hard if you know what to do.
Anyway, thanks for the advice (although I knew it).

RE: IRWR?
@VIPER-0 What does this have to do with War Thunder? Donāt misunderstand me, I was just asking, not requesting. I had heard of IRWR or IR MAWS, so I wanted to ask if there was something like that in BMS.

RE: IRWR?
@VDK Okay. I donāt know which planes have IRWR in reality, but some definitely do. Or am I wrong?

RE: SA-11, SA-17 Evasion
@Aragorn
No more than 50 meters off the ground. If itās flat ground, 10-15m. If you are close to the launch site, then 5m or even a little less. In general, āstay below the radarā means that if you are radiated, descenduntil you hit the grounduntil the radar stops radiating you or hide behind some relief irregularity. By the way, you can effectively fly very low by turning the cockpit down, just imagine that the ground is the top, but donāt forget to reverse pitch (not the fact that you can do this, itās quite a strange thing so far helped only to me). -
RE: SA-11, SA-17 Evasion
@Sniper-0
Stay out of the launch zone, for a start Evasion from the missile is possible at a distance of no more than 10nm (thatās approximately, I didnāt count exactly). You need to turn away from the launch site, fire the afterburner, start the weave maneuver, and after about 5-6nm pull up. Chaff is ineffective, but thereās a very small chance to break lock. And the closer the launch, the less chance you have.But itās usually simpler than that. Stay below the radar. Youāll minimize the chance of anything being fired at you at all. Likewise, if youāre at altitude, immediately dive to the ground. Just donāt go up on the terrain. And yes, check the Threat guide. Thereās some pretty good advices there.

RE: Trojan:Script/Wacatac.B!ml
@Dufus
Iāve had the same thing, antivirus (ESET NOD32) found something āpotentially dangerousā in the launcher. However, itās obviously a false alarm. For me, Iām not known of any infections through BMS (Of course, only if you downloaded it from the official site). Iāve been playing BMS for a relatively long time, and like thousands of other people havenāt experienced any security issues. I think you can ignore this warning. -

Great video, and a good track. But the best music is the sound of your fighter, and nothing more! -
RE: The new UI is too small for me
@SemlerPDX
Yes, I can. But first I have to buy a newer computer. My laptop isnāt that bad, but something newer is better. For example in BMS, when there are a lot of troops around me at the same time, my laptop feels pretty bad. -
RE: The new UI is too small for me
@b0bl00i
Youāre right. But for at least a couple of years a new PC will be the thing I need the least. Real life is more important, whether itās good or not. -
RE: The new UI is too small for me
Well I use a notebook, and itās already a bit old, although 1 terabyte of storage and 16 RAM is not too little. Another thing is that there is no video card, and my RAM can be divided by two.

Thank you very much, Seifer. Although I like the new UI more, but itās so small. -
