Hi people,
I searched and couldn’t find a dedicated introductions thread, so I started one of my own to say hi.
I’ve looked at Falcon 4.0 on and off for years. Even played a demo of it way back in the day when my PC wasn’t able to run it at full graphics (yep, that long ago), but didn’t buy it for that reason. At that time I was playing F/A-18 Hornet 3.0 by Graphsims. I was all of about 16 and played the **** out of that game. It also easilly ran on our crappy (even for the time) home PC.
Time went on and I moved away from flight sims, mostly because the 90s ended and took good flight sims with it. FPS games and multiplayer took the place of flight sims until I finally decided to buy IL-2 Sturmovik after looking at it for a few years. It was great and I did play it for a long time, but being a F/A-18 Hornet 3.0 fan, I ended up getting sick of WWII planes after a while. Since then I didn’t play many flight sims at all until I got DCS and a few modules for it recently. It’s a good game, but still buggy and crashy. I’ve been waiting for their F/A-18 module to release, but that’s still looking like a long while off.
Last week I came across a video on YouTube by BurnerTactical about Falcon BMS and its F/A-18. FYI it was a Long Range DEAD Strike mission (can be found here
). I had heard of BMS here and there, but I didn’t know until this point that you guys had implemented my favourite fighter attack aircraft. I watched BurnerTactical’s 40min+ video and loved every second of it. The realistic tactical communication with his two commrades combined with the aircraft systems, carrier launch and landings and combat engagements made me decide to buy Falcon 4.0 and download this TCMOD. So thanks to BurnerTactical (not sure what his handle is here on the forums) and the BMS team for making what looks like a great mod (yet to play as I’m still downloading it) and bringing back my favourite fighter to the combat sim arena.Cheers
