Native VR support would be an absolute game changer for me. I mainly use VR for sim racing (iracing) but I’ve recently tried it with IL-2 and …wow, that just delivers a very different experience. I’ve tried to get VR working with BMS 4.35 using VorpX but haven’t had much luck yet getting it to run stable.

RE: Not looking forward to the VR update
I can’t wait for VR for BMS to be honest. Having flown IL-2 in VR (HP Reverb G2), I just couldn’t go back to pancake mode in BMS again. There’s nothing like looking over your shoulder into the sun to see where that pesky Me109 went! Not to mention the depth perception is much more natural to me in VR than it is on a flat screen.
I’ve been sim racing (iRacing) exclusively in VR for the last 18+ months and I couldn’t do that on a monitor either - in VR, I can race door-to-door and nose-to-bumper and actually seeing how much space I really have left … you just can’t do that on a flat monitor.
As long as I can get a good working mouse cursor in BMS in VR, it’s all fine with me. When flying BMS with TrackIR, I don’t tend to use my keyboard a whole lot anyway - I either use the 1:1 bindings on my TM Cougar or I use the mouse to interact with different systems. Once BMS 4.37 is out, I’ll adapt my sim racing rig to also function as my main BMS cockpit with my TQS and FLCS mounted to either side of my (already tilted) bucket seat and my mouse+keyboard within easy reach. I’ll just need to remap my racing pedals to also act as my rudder pedals (as I’m not going to be swapping those for my CH pedals every time).
I can’t wait for 4.37 and VR!!

RE: Tupolev Tu-95MS
Oh yes, I absolute love the Bear!
Unfortunately all I have are some crappy scans of my slides I took back in 1994 using a very old Minolta slide scanner that really didn’t handle Kodachrome 64 slides well at all. Unfortunately, my slide collection is on the other side of the world from me still.
But man, I can still remember being at Fairford in 1994 and having to actually pinch myself … that there was actually a Tu-95 right in front of me. And it was soooooo looooouuuuddddddd!!!

RE: [VR] "My legs are small and my cockpit is tiny" fix
I have a HP Reverb G2 but I haven’t installed BMW 4.37 yet (too busy with the holidays) - but I have a similar “issue” in iRacing, in that by default the head is positioned too far back into the seat for my liking.
To get around that, when sitting in my sim rig, I push my head all the way back (while wearing the G2 of course) and then press the “recenter HMD” button in iRacing. When I then sit normal again, I sit a lot closer to the dashboard - as if I moved the seat forward if you will. (This then places my wheel exactly where it fits in the game as well, so it feels way more natural to me).
Anyway, give that a try in BMS? By re-centering your HMD away from your seated position, you are effectively readjusting the view point forward.

RE: Santa's wishlist for BMS
I really would welcome native VR (OpenXR) support.

Since the original Top Gun movie is one of my favorites and this model is top noch by stingray and i hope we can see it in Falcon someday. And i would love to make some experiments on it skinwise at leastI’ve had the opportunity to shoot some photos of the last combat cruise of the VF-31 and VF-213 Tomcats in the Arabian Gulf during OIF, I’m happy to help with any photos where I can.

RE: Warthog F-16 Joystick vs. CH Pro - anyone made the switch to TM?
Btw, Winwing Orion (a Chinese simulation gear manufacturer) is now also working on a F-16 FLCS and TQS (complete with the correct lift-gate for the ident and AB).
It’s still in development but their F-18 HOTAS kits are now landing in the community, I’m awaiting additional reviews but I’m rather excited to see another option appearing, alongside the likes of Virpil.
Store link: https://wwsimstore.com/STORE
At $500 USD, this is look like a very impressive piece of kit:

RE: Gripen for BMS. What do you think ?
Having a Gripen in BMS would be terribly exciting - I’m not too fuzzed which version either. I do have a soft spot for the JAS39C though, especially the Czech ones. It was incredibly cool to see the MiG-21MFN and JAS39C operate side by side in 2005 before the final Fishbed retirement from Czech service.

RE: F-5A/C/E/N/S series
Indeed but…
Morocco in BMS ?
Wasn’t Morocco in the Pillars of Hercules theater? It was a long time since we flew that one but I remember it being very enjoyable. (Though operating out of Gibraltar was a bit scary - that is a very short runway!)
