Look at this thread I wrote describing how to install GOG Falcon 4 and get BMS working.

RE: RWR blind spot(s), or SU-27 FCR issue?
But if you notice in the video, the -27 was splashed 8 seconds before the first R-27 impact and 12 seconds before the second. There’s no way a SARH R-27 would have continued to track and splash OP’s -16 after being hit by that slammer. Well, I guess it’s possible the radar continued tracking even as the pilot was ejecting, but that seems odd. EDIT: It seems the lock was maintained after the slammer hit, but if you look closely, the radar lock drops seconds before the second R-27 impact, yet the missile still guided on the OP’s -16.
OP: is it possible those were R-27T models?
I’ll start this by saying that I haven’t watched the clip so what I’m saying might not be true in this particular case but …
It is quite possible to be hit by a SARH missile after it loses tracking. The missile will continue to fly a ballistic course, just like a really large, slow bullet. If you don’t manoeuvre and the missiles intercept solution was good then you are getting hit.

RE: Cougar TQS can it be used with Warthog Joystick..
The Cougar TQS needs to be connected through the Courgar SSC to work “out of the box”. I ran like that for several years with the Cougar stick sat behind my monitor (bit of an arse ache to calibrate sat there though). Later I got a TUSBA from Real Simulations so I could get rid of the Cougar Stick.
Word of warning though. If you use TARGET (I don’t) then using a TUSBA will make it imposible to program the TQS using TARGET.
I see you also posted this in the Cougar section of the forums. PLease don’t do that as I’ve wasted my time telling you stuff that others have already told you!!!

RE: IVC UHF in Left Ear VHF in Right ear
Pretty sure you can’t do this in BMS … to do it IRL the radio would need to be able to output a radio channel independently to each earphone. Pretty sure it can’t be done in the F-16. Afterall you are monitoring 3 different Radio frequencies in the F-16, UHF, VHF & Guard.
Having done this in the Army, monitoring 2 different radio nets at the same time I can also say that it can be quite difficult especially if you get simultaneous transmissions.

RE: Navigation and Communication bug?
I stand corrected … to be honest, I forgot the wind speed and direction is displayed on the home DED page

RE: Navigation and Communication bug?
The first part is relatively easy to answer … winds aloft. Your nose is pointing to the left of your track due to a sidewind from the right. The second I am guessing but, you called Kimpo using UHF but you are nearer to Hyon so got the answer from them. Radio range is sorta modelled now and those blasted North Koreans are using the same UHF Freq. as Kimpo.
Try getting closer to Kimpo before contacted them … if you were close then I don’t know. Maybe a bit of North Korean Signals Warfare.

RE: Anyplace to buy a cougar?
Vary your search terms is another tip. Think how folks may misspell the name, include the description when searching, think what folks might call the HOTAS system other than it’s correct name. Searching for a flight control system that has been out of production for a decade takes patients and perserverance.

RE: Confusing manuals for new players - where to start from?
Can I just interject a point here: I have never understood folks who have an issue in BMS and try to source an answer using the AF or original Falcon 4 manuals. That’s like trying to fix your BMW using a manual for a Ford. Yes, they are both Cars and derive from the same root but they are totally different. The same is true of BMS; AF is on a totally different developement tree and so at best is a Cousin to BMS. Falcon 4 is like the Grand Parent to both. But as such the chances of getting a solution to a BMS problem (learning oppotunity) from these other manuals is slim to non-existent.
The current BMS manuals are by far the best BMS manuals that have existed for BMS. Whilst not perfect (show me a manual that is) they are a work in progress and can only improve. If you find something you think is wrong then post it in the Documentation area of the forums. There it will either be explained or noted to be included in the next version of the documents, usually with a thanks from the authors.

RE: Laptop + More RAM= Worth it?
Remember unless you are using a 64bit operating system more than 4GB RAM is a waste of money as your OS can’t use it.

RE: My stalled F/A - 18
Not only it has its own flight model but it has its own FLCS as well
And this will be improved in 3 to 4 weeks
I stand corrected …

RE: My stalled F/A - 18
As far as I know, it’s not … You’re not going to be getting the Recovery Arrows in the HUD or any of the other things that the F/A-18 does. It is after all, my understanding is that its basically a reskinned F-16 with a couple of tweaks. Also reading the article the guy is basically saying that it is damned near impossible to spin an F/A-18 just by going slow. It stalls, you let go the stick, it recovers. No dramas. To spin it you’ve really got to be working at it.

RE: My stalled F/A - 18
I think this document might help you carry out the correct recovery procedure for a departed F/A- 18.

RE: Got Low FPS? Come HERE!
See now I’m both curious as to what diabolical suggestion was made and at the same time not wanting to perpetuate some half-baked lunacy …
Maybe a thread locking to stop idiots like me making feeble attempts at humour in whats left of the thread?

RE: Maybe minor typo in docu
Either term, Glide Path or Glide Slope, are used in aviation. I don’t think this is a typo at all.

RE: Ff you could have one thing in the next update it would be…
Just an idle thought but the ability to do stuff like THIS when done with finesse and not just automatically crash.
In fairness, you don’t automatically crash in BMS if you have a mid-air (I’ve survived hitting the tanker and having to be guided home by my wing lead as I flew with a boot full of right rudder and no avionics) but you usually do.

RE: Flew straight and level
Sorry Agave_Blue I couldn’t manage to watch all 30 odd minutes … I got a hard to resist urge to beat my head against a brick wall to try to knock the Ball Earth theory from my obviously confused mind.

RE: Over the shoulder bombing?
Not part of the F-16’s repertoire so (even if BMS will allow an inverted release) you’re on your own for judging the release point.
“Over the shoulder” toss bombing was developed in the 50’s to allow a low flying aircraft to get a good fix on the target (by over-flying it) and initiate a loop manoeuvre to deliver the tactical nuke leaving time to perform an escape. As navigation systems, sensors and air defences got better, over-flying the target was neither needed or healthy so Toss Bombing to project the bomb in front of the aircraft was refinded.

RE: Falcon BMS won't launch Win 10 64bit
What Cloud 9 said above.
I run Win 10 64 bit and have no problems at all. I think the Intro Movie is probably what’s killing your BMS.

RE: Ff you could have one thing in the next update it would be…
So is the PT highly classified?
And usually MFD drawings are not classified at all.
Even MFD page on Hornet related with JDAM GPS encryption is unclassified. If he lives in USA, has such documents and he’s not Viper driver he’s already in trouble. So… What’s the difference?
It wouldn’t matter if Dee-Jay was a German Pilot flying Hercules’ or even just a bloke from Lithuania with no military background at all … BMS would still be in trouble (as would he) if he published any Restricted Documents here. That’s why the forum rules (you have read those?) say you can publish or link to any document with a security clearance greater than “Unclassified”. The Forum Rules
From what I recall BMS is international team with various contributors from various nations. So… There is no reason why it would fall under US law… It’s distributed by torrent so it’s not downloaded from US server.
You can already view Area51 on Google maps and nobody has forced creators of Google to sit on electric chair
You can look at something that was restricted even for Skylab US space station program astronauts. They were told that they are not allowed to photo this place. There are very few countries that having Restricted Documents for the F-16 (or any other US aircraft) and publishing them online will not result in your getting into some serious trouble. Start using/spreading them via BMS and that would be the end of BMS.
So just don’t do it!

RE: The jsf start switch
i did mention the discrepancy between UHF backups in u1 to u3(U3 being non functional with AI and TOWER ATC), the resolution problems now upon reinstall, and the fact that the JSF switch stopped working in all aircraft which remains a mystery, but I always loved a little Roswell.
Can I point you to this thread detailing the sort of information etc you should be providing when making a bug report. Just saying it’s broken helps nobody. You need to indicate what your running environment is including any mods that have been applied to BMS, what version (update level) of BMS you are running, what you did that caused the issue, what you expected to happen and what actually happened. That’s the bare minimum information you need to provide.
Before you do any of this though you NEED to make sure you can replicate the bug in a clean install of BMS. Mods are provided by folks other than the BMS team and if a Mod has broken BMS you can expect the BMS Team to fix it. The responsibility lies with the person who wrote the Mod.
The “bug” might only show with a particular operating system.
It might be a bug with a Mod being run.
It might not even be a “Bug” but a misunderstanding of what should happen.
