You may want to check your graphics card drivers to make sure they are up to date. Problems with drivers can also cause this type of failure.

Updated to 6.30 and extraction works, just not with 6.11. Problem solved.

MFDE fails to extract MFD's in 4.34
I’m running version MFDE 6.0.1.1 on a networked computer, all other instruments extract perfectly, just no MFD’s. Worked fine in 4.33. This on Win 10 Pro 64bit 1809, with the latest Nvidia drivers installed as well.

RE: Cougar MFD setup
I use https://www.command.com/3M/en_US/command/products/~/Command-Clear-Medium-Refill-Strips/?N=5924736+3294529207+3294737329&preselect=8719408+3293786499&rt=rud They work well, and leave no marks or residue on the monitor upon removal.

RE: Bms with Nvidia Surround, position Textchat
For moving the comms menu, you need to edit the menu.dat file located in your BMS install drive:\FalconBM 4.33 U1\Data\Art\ckptart folder. Add in the resolution of your triple screen setup, i.e. 5760 x 1080, then change the left and right side numbers to where you wish them positioned. As for the text chat, that is unchangeable without a code change from what I’ve read.

RE: Stealthy MiG 29A in Instant Action?
I can tell you from personal experience that the first round of Mig-29’s “spawn” at 30k. So considering his radar scan area, the OP does not have his FCR pointed in the correct elevation to detect the Migs.

RE: A Guide to Morphine’s Profile for BMS 4.33 and Beyond
One more idiosyncrasy to add about Target GUI. If it doesn’t start quickly after hitting the run profile button, then it isn’t working correctly.
Sometimes the Target GUI launching and running profile window lists the white text quickly for the first few lines, then slows down, looks like it is thinking then displays the rest of the lines of text. It may look like is working. If you go into BMS and the axis and key bindings are all messed up then it isn’t working correctly. It is a good idea to always go into setup in BMS and check that the axis are correct before flying to make sure that Target is working correctly. Of course this depends on having set up the axis with a correctly running target to begin with.
If the text loaded slowly and the axis and key bindings are porked, don’t start resetting everything in BMS. It is a big waste of time because Target is not actually running correctly. Exit BMS, close the Target launching and running profile window and then close Target.
You can try to run Target again but I have never had any luck doing that.
What works for me is to restart or turn off and turn on my computer then try to run Target again. The text in the launching and running profile window needs to load quickly and smoothly for it to function properly. If it does that then you can start BMS and go into the setup window. It is really a pain to spend time setting up the axis only to find out that Target wasn’t working properly while you did it. Then try to fly on a different day when Target does start properly and find out that the axis and key bindings are all messed up again.
A short while ago, for about a few weeks, target started loading slowing again. I would have to restart my pc, sometimes more than once, to get it to load correctly. Lately it loads correctly every time. It is a mystery.
Running Windows 10 per chance? I’ve recently run into the same issue.

RE: Cougar Warthog Review?
I have been a user of the TM Warthog setup for several years. I have had zero issues with either the stick or the throttle. Both provide a solid “feel” and accuracy. I use the TARGET software and haven’t had any issues with command input. As someone who worked on the F-16 Avionics for many years, it definitely took some getting used to the throttle, but now that I have, I wouldn’t be able to go back to the F-16 throttle. Having all the extra switches available at my finger tips is very welcome. No searching the keyboard to hit a key, it’s flip a switch and press on. AAR is a matter of practice…. lots of practice, and the warthog works just fine for AAR as mentioned above.
As with all things, it boils down to personal preference. Do you want to match the aircraft exactly, or do you want something that gives you more for about the same money?

RE: WARTHOG THROTTLE SHUTTING DOWN
Something you may want to look into, is that Windows 10 powers down usb ports. There are settings that can be adjusted to fix that issue.

RE: Sporadic graphical glitches as if switching channels on an old TV
With my GTX 1080, running 3 24" screens @ 5760 x 1080. I average 100+ fps with everything maxed in BMS. This is doing instant action at low level over land. Over the ocean with no land, was over 150+ fps. This was done in 4.33 basic. Not update 1.
The new Doom @ 5760 x 1080 averaged 85ish fps on Ultra detail. My SLI’d 770’s couldn’t handle that resolution on medium detail (Give you an idea of the power of a single 1080). Every game I have tried I’ve had zero issues with and play in the ultra detail if the game has it. So far, I’m very pleased with this card for the money.
If you have the 7 series or lower single or SLI’d card and want to know if it’s a good upgrade. I can tell you that a single GTX 1080 will handle your needs at resolutions of 5760 x 1080 or lower with ease. If you can afford it, I recommend it.

RE: Reading target bullseye location from the FCR in AA mode
The one thing that I would recommend is extracted displays. Helps immeasurably for reading instruments and MFD’s without the need to “zoom” in on them.

RE: 4.33 Issues (Known or not)
ATC is far from beeing finished to revamo is 4.33.
however for your specific problem if you think about it, nothing we can do.
indeed in case of autonomous approach, the ATC has no way to know if you will land in 1minute or 20 minutes because you dont have a’y pattern to follow. therefore in case of autonomous aporoach you are badly inserted in the atc queue and on a busy airfield you will be kicked out from final often…
Far from being finished I understand, saying that for my situation “there is nothing you can do” is laughable. At my first call for autonomous landing at 29 miles, yes I am an unknown variable. However, once the 5 mile call for final is requested, I am no longer unknown. As to whether or not I’m cleared to land is at ATCs discretion. Once given the clearance to land by ATC @ 5nm or less, I shouldn’t have to worry whether or not another aircraft is going to be cleared to take off when I’m on 5 mile final. That is very fixable.

RE: 4.33 Issues (Known or not)
Not sure if this has been mentioned in another thread or not, but figured I’d add it here. During MP campaign, during approach to Osan AB, after autonomous approach call @ 29nm, when at less than 5nm on final approach (straight in) get approval for landing from ATC. As the distance closes, I hear that another flight has been given permission to take off. Then shortly after, my permission to land has been cancelled and I’m to re-request approach approval. This has happened several times, either exactly as I described or, take off approval has been granted to a flight and shortly after, I’m given approval to land, and then approval cancelled and told to abort the approach. I guess ATC still needs some work.

RE: How many of you are using multi monitor setups?
My setup which is run from a pair of Nvidia GTX 770’s at 5760 x 1080. I have vsync enabled, and without weapon, FLIR, or TGP video on, runs at 60 FPS. With FLIR and TGP on at low level with max trees and grass, 45-50 FPS. Also using MFDE to extract displays via LAN to a second computer driving the 4th monitor in the pic.

RE: Triple screen, radio text, move it to middle screen?
+1 on the request as well

RE: Wallpapers
Took 3 of the wallpapers from the docs section of 4.33 and made a 5760 x 1080 wallpaper for those of us with triple screens.

RE: Which GFX card
Just a word of caution about using 2006 3d mark as a basis for purchasing a video card. Both ATI (AMD) and Nvidia have been found to “boost” artificial benchmarks with drivers when sent out to hardware test sites. You are better off looking at actual game results than that style of benchmark since they are so easily manipulated with drivers. When it comes to Falcon BMS, both AMD and Nvidia cards do well. It just comes down to what you want. If you want lower power usage and cards that quieter, Nvidia is ahead in that area at the moment. If you don’t mind noise and efficiency isn’t an issue, AMD is performing just as well. Money wise, a GTX 970 will run a single 1920x1080 monitor with maxed eye candy just fine. Even the 960 will run it just fine. I would recommend the 970 for current and future gaming vs the 960, but that is just a personal opinion.

Nice. If I decide to go to Win 10 in the future, at least there is a fix for the issue. Thanks for the info.

RE: Windows 10 and thrustmaster GUI
The only thing I didn’t try, was to trying running the script with the script editor vs the target gui. Doubtful it would make a difference, but you just can never tell what windows will or will not like.
