    • Configuring a pinky shift button (again)

      I took a couple years off from BMS, and am hoping to hop back in later this week.

      I’m trying to create shifted functions on my CH Fighterstick/Pro Throttle (I followed Frederf’s instructions in an earlier post from this year), but the issue I’m having is the shift appears to “stick” after pressing it, so the buttons remains shifted until it’s unstuck (and the only way to do that so far is to press #3, the NWS A/R DISC button.)

      Any ideas what I might have done wrong? I can post my key file if needed.

      Edit: found the problem. I can’t add 3 and 256 together apparently. 258 is the NWS button shifted, so of course it took it out of shift when I hit it, since I had set the 2nd shift entry to 258. Bumped to 259 and now fixed!

      @OldGoat5:

      I dont think any of you have tried it. If you do not use external mfds, switches, or the keyboard, only mouse and cougar, it is like being there. When i check six, that is amazing. You actually lean back in a dogfight. It felt like i was in a dream and actually flying. The stereoscopic real life vision, that makes it look like another actual huge jet is there next to you, is what is worth it to make compromises. I dont care about maybe leaning forward to read the ded, or peeking under to check notes, the real life vision you get of sitting in the cockpit is why im getting it.

      It works in simpler games like Elite Dangerous because you can bind everything you need to the HOTAS and never have to touch the keyboard or other external input ever during play.

      BMS is too complex for that right now. Many flight simulators are too complex for that right now.

      Maybe someday, but today is not that day. Tomorrow isn’t looking good either.

    • RE: Windows 10

      @Grizzly:

      Also, Windows 10 as an upgrade is quite heavy to drive for any system. Plus its size is at least 5 times more than with a clean install.

      Run disk cleanup, go into advanced mode, and it can clean up the old Windows folder plus the installation folder. I got back 27GB.

      Me neither. Use Weapon Delivery Planner instead.

    • RE: Getting Data From Falcon

      BMS has shared memory that’s accessible. There are a quite a few apps already out there (MFDe, CPD, a number of tablet and phone apps)

    • RE: Falcon 1.08 US Patch….Do I need it?.. Where in the world is it downloadable from??

      Confirmed. You don’t need the patch, and you do not need to install Falcon 4 either. BMS just asks for the install media to confirm ownership. You only need to install BMS plus it’s own updates.

      You probably missed something during takeoff, unless you turned on random faults in the config file. By default they’re off.
