Hate to highjack thread ;), but is there any possibility to set turbulence on higher altitudes, i.e. for AAR? Somehow above 20K it doesn’t work for me.

RE: Flameout @ 600lb
600lbs is certainly not a lot of fuel for a jet. It is about 10min of flight or 1min afterburner.
C’mon, 10 mins it’s a lot for fighter - it’s 3 touch and goes plus taxi back.

RE: AIM-9X Performance
I’m with thereisnotime here.
Is 9X operationally proven? No. There are theory, calculations, tests, and statements.
But it wasn’t used in big numbers against peer opponent. With no operational experience, basically, everything is based on assumptions so far. And whatever technology is, history has proven many times that assumptions may be catastrophically wrong. If someone doesn’t want look back and consult history, so it be. But USAF has been blamed for its over-reliance on technology many times for reason.
Bottom line is - we have seen a lot of wunderwaffe so far. Not all of them lived to promise. So why to assume that 9X is holy invincible weapon?
Anyway, prudent pilots, who one day may use those weapons in real combat, aren’t thinking of modern short range missiles as unbeatable ones, because it’s them, who will put their life on line at the end. And they are much more conservative in such thing than us, virtual pilots.

RE: Air-air radar modes TMS management quick chart
Cool, but we are such nerds!

RE: AIM-9X Performance
Until there is a big war, and despite all those papers and extensive tests, it’s unclear how missile will perform in RL operational scenario. Like in Vietnam, in Iraq (9M against “crude” Russian flares) and recently in Syria (9X against same Russian flare), there might be some unpleasant surprises.
So, who really knows how those missiles will perform? Everything is only assumptions.
Also, at least some time ago, in training USAF counted as a kill 2 valid 9X “shots”.

RE: Falcon BMS 1v1 BFM Ladder
For how long you are going to run this? I want first to learn new features of 4.34 and (re)learn how to fight in campaign, after that I should be able to join.

RE: Weasel
I red they used supersonic Rampage missile (4x per single F16) + of course terrain coverage and perhaps even Russians love them in real

(have not seen your vid yet)In purely technical POV terrain plays crucial role in this theater imo.
They even do not need to enter Syrian airspace (the same with subsonic Delilah). For some strikes they don’t have to leave Israel aerospace, but not for all. For example, strike in the vicinity of Allepo at the end of March definitely required Syrian aerospace penetration and flying inside of S-300 and 400 MEZ.

RE: Weasel
Only D and later models of AGM-88 can use INS or GPS for targeting. Earlier models use INS only for navigation to the point where homing begins.

RE: Ff you could have one thing in the next update it would be…
What’ the stronger word for speechless? That’s gonna be tons of fun! Thank you BMS team!

RE: Ff you could have one thing in the next update it would be…
Copy. I was speaking about RL, without going into discussion on this stuff being implemented in BMS. Sorry.
-
RE: Ff you could have one thing in the next update it would be…
BMS simulates near peer war scenario, in which acceptable risk will be much higher.

RE: Ff you could have one thing in the next update it would be…
Some helicopters even did SEAD. For on site instant confirmed destruction apparently.
This is the one I always heard about. But don’t remember hearing about a10 doing SEAD.
BUT if these choppers could do it, I imagine an a10 could be part of it too.

Yeah, technically speaking and according to doctrine Apaches performed SEAD, but I was speaking about real deal SEAD - attacking SAM sites and not EW radars.

RE: Ff you could have one thing in the next update it would be…
In ODS there were occasions when older F-16 bombed SAM clusters with Mk series bombs.
And I remember something like using A-10s on SEAD missions, don’t remember weapons they used, though.

RE: AWACS menu greyed out
… you necro . I thought you’ve repaired it already by now.
Kinda busy atm, will probably late , but send it I will take a look when able. (and make a note for which theater is it)
Cheers
Not me, it’s Gancio. Will try what Axe suggested.

RE: Weapons specialists needed => BLU-109
DJ, just suggestion - isn’t it better to ask on F-16.net? They’ve got a lot of expertise there.

RE: AWACS menu greyed out
I haven’t fixed it.
White fangs, if you are still interested, I will send it to you. Sorry, missed your post previously.

RE: Chaff & flares
IRMD definitely does something in BMS from my experience. Looks like it even reduces damage if opponent was able to launch F-2.
