RE: BMS don't save key file
@tdr You can use your existing keyfiles by saving them as “BMS - Full” and placing them in the config folder.
Then delete the “BMS - Auto” keyfile and restart the launcher.
The “BMS - Auto” keyfile will be regenerated along with your already-assigned DX buttons as they are stored in the XML files in the config folder.

RE: weather controlled cannot change
No, from the user manual, I think we should able to select a season but there is some setting that is forcing it to “Weather Controlled”.
From page 3-34 of the user manual for 4.36:
Season
You can select one of four seasons directly or if it should be weather
controlled. In this case it is automatically selected by the date and is
depending on latitude.
➢ Weather Controlled (default)
➢ Summer
➢ Fall
➢ Winter
➢ Spring
The different seasons are mainly processed through shaders, thus shaders must be activated to change
the seasons; otherwise only tiles will change with seasons.I have checked my shaders are active in the config program but I cannot select a season. It always reverts to “Weather Controlled”.

RE: 4.37 - Alternative Launcher (AL)
@Dee-Jay Thanks DeeJay, I tried using the legacy launcher with 4.37 and using my old keyfile.
In the legacy Setup screen for the controllers all the buttons are working but when I go into 3D none of my control buttons are working in the cockpit.
***Edit: I got it working finally. I had to completely uninstall 4.37 and then reinstall and then set it up using the legacy launcher from the beginning WITHOUT EVER using the Alternative Launcher.
I used the legacy setup screen, my 4.36 key file and 4.36 device sorting file and it works well now.***

RE: Mixed reality proof of concept and new Virtual Desktop with passthrough mask
See this guy’s Youtube Channel. He has built an entire cockpit from scratch.
https://www.youtube.com/@RainmanHST
He has already made the VR mask with pass-through using a Quest3 and he will be doing a how-to video soon.
Here is a Youtube shorts of his cockpit in VR and pass-through.

4.37.3 Large Yellow Cursor
Hi,
I don’t remember the yellow cursor cross being so large - see image.
Vanilla install of 4.37.3. I am on a 4k monitor.
I have tried adding set g_sPriorityFixes “all-PFIX_4K_TEXT_AND_CURSOR_USER_DEFINE_AND_APPLY_DPI” to my Falcon BMS User.cfg file but no luck. -
RE: Balkans Theater for 4.37.3
@Quasi_Stellar said in Balkans Theater for 4.37.3:
@zap737 U2 theaters will not work with U3
OK, thanks, so…
Uninstall Balkans 4.37.2, update BMS to 4.37.3 and then use full installer for Balkans 4.37.3. -
RE: Balkans Theater for 4.37.3
Hi All,
if I already have Balkans 4.37.2 installed can I just download the full installer and run it to update from 4.37.2 to 4.37.3 ??

RE: How to edit Launcher .key file?
@airtex2019 said in How to edit Launcher .key file?:
@zap737 be aware, the BMS-Full.key import trick only works for a fairly narrow set of conditions. eg. if you have multiple devices, or key file numbering with 32-per-device, a dx-shift offset range that doesn’t align to what AL expects… multiple hats… it’s complicated. good news tho, I think the team is working on a more first-class solution for importing legacy key files.
Yes I think the next iteration of the Launcher will be more user-friendly.

RE: How to edit Launcher .key file?
It’s important to understand that the Launcher uses the “BMS - Auto” keyfile which is generated from the “BMS - Full” keyfile.
(The “BMS - Full” file could be the standard one with 4.37 or one which you may have used from previous versions - note you would have to add the new callbacks from 4.37 to your old file to be up to date).
First, make a backup of all the relevant keyfiles first.
Make a new “BMS - Full” keyfile using your own keyfile and place it in your config file.
Delete the BMS - Auto keyfile (this is important) and it will be regenerated when you restart the Launcher.
The new BMS - Auto keyfile will contain your personal keyfile contents.
Your DX assignments will be added to the new BMS - Auto file as they are stored in the XML files in your Config folder.
(You may have to restart the launcher again to see the DX assignments in the BMS - Auto file though.)

RE: AVCS4 Immersive Voice Control Radios for VoiceAttack
@SemlerPDX When I use VA, my voice attack transmissions are repeated by the sim - both aurally and in text on the screen. I have noticed in some voice attack BMS videos, the sim does not repeat the command. How do you stop the repeat transmissions by the sim when using VA ? thanks.

RE: Are all of these key binds hard coded
@rcdem I’m not sure on the “Hard coded” ones but yes there is a way to make others in green editable. I had the same problem when trying to assign buttons to the QWERTY keys for radio commands.
It’s important to understand that the BMS - Auto keyfile is generated from the BMS - Full keyfile. (The BMS - Full file could be the standard one with 4.37 or one which you may have used from previous versions - note you would have to add the new callbacks from 4.37 to your old file to be up to date).
Make a backup of the relevant keyfiles first.
Then, import the BMS - Full keyfile into the Excel keyfile editor. Then for each one you want to make editable, change the “UI Visibility” from locked or hidden to Visible.
Save the Excel file and export the keyfile and place it in your config file.
Delete the BMS - Auto keyfile (this is important) and it will be regenerated when you restart the Launcher.
Your DX assignments will be added to the new BMS - Auto file as they are stored in the XML files. (You may have to restart the launcher again to see the DX assignments in the BMS - Auto file though.)
You should now be able to change the key assignments or assign buttons to those commands.
