Any hints at how to get vjoy setup? I see it in windows but it isn’t detecting any buttons or inputs.

RE: Ice’s Falcon BMS Profile Updated for BMS 4.37
Thanks @linknet, worked like a charm, I did have to change what it is looking for in the first “x” characters of the theater name as it is actually called 1982 Battle for Suez, so changing the lookup to “1982” did the trick. Thanks for the insight on that one. I should have looked a little closer when I was doing it but ran out of time. What is the reason for limiting the length to check only the first few characters and not just return the full name and match the full name? Is that just to optimize the execution or is that to do with the theaters having different name lengths and there would be a problem to return 10 characters if only 5 exist?
My next question which is really just an inconvenience as the work around is to manually copy the DDS files for the kneeboards from the KTO directory to the Suez directory. The issue is WDP doesn’t recognize the FO theater and I can’t update WDP like I just did for the charts in Helios. Since WDP isn’t able to update the kneeboards in the correct directory which is “Add-On 1982 Battle for Suez\Terrdata\objects\KoreaObj” it only updates the DDS files in the standard KTO directory. Since Helios does pull the kneeboards from the Suez directory I am not able to get my own kneeboards unless I manually copy the DDS files from KTO to Suez. Is there a way to make Helios still update the kneeboards from the KTO directory even if it is running a non KTO theater? Doing this would just cause the in game kneeboards to display different images than the Helios kneeboards correct? Since I fly with pilot legs off them being different wouldn’t matter. How are the .jpg images in the “Documents\Helios\Images\FalconBMS Images\Kneeboards” updated from the Suez theater directory? Is that the AutoPadsUpdate.exe figuring out what the directory is for the Suez theater is or is it being done somewhere else?
Thanks

RE: Ice’s Falcon BMS Profile Updated for BMS 4.37
Hey linknet, question on the charts. Is there a reason you have the rotary charts selector hidden? Is there a problem with manually selecting the charts if you know what you are doing? Since the FalconOnline theaters are unique Helios doesn’t recognize them even though there are theaters that could be used, such as the current Suez campaign they have going on. Helios doesn’t recognize it as the Israel theater even though it uses the same map and for the most part the same airport charts. Is there another way to get Helios to pull up the Israel charts other than enabling the rotary and moving the layer above the charts on it? Is there a theater list somewhere that can be edited which corresponds to the theater chart Helios will pull up?

RE: Ice’s Falcon BMS Profile Updated for BMS 4.37
Edit - It looks like after installing Helios a reboot was required as that fixed it.
@linknet - Thanks for the new version, will try and stay a little more current going forward, now that I am getting a little quicker at making my mods.
One issue I am running into on this current version is after setting everything up and resetting the monitors, when I try and open up the monitor to make the changes I am getting an error that it thinks I have the incorrect version of Helios, but I can confirm I have 1.6.5800.0000.
Thoughts?

RE: Weapon Delivery Planner released
@Falcas - I am getting something odd when setting up a HADB profile. when looking at the map in WDP under the profile it doesn’t matching up with the map in BMS also the STPT locations and PPTs don’t match the mission either. Here is what WDP shows vs. what BMS is showing. Thoughts?

RE: [REL] Dummy D3D DLL's that draws nothing in 3D mode
@delenda - looks like we were able to get it going, it turns out it was a permissions issue where the BMS directory now needs read/write access to the BMS directory.
Thanks for the feedback guys.

RE: [REL] Dummy D3D DLL's that draws nothing in 3D mode
@delenda I am using RDP, I tried with VNC and it still crashed, will try from the console next just to be sure.

RE: [REL] Dummy D3D DLL's that draws nothing in 3D mode
@delenda @airtex2019 - thanks for the info, current server has 8GB so maybe it is as simple as that.
When you had problems with 8GB we’re you able to get to the UI and then it crashed going to 3D? I can’t even get the server into the UI as it just crashes on startup. I watched the ram usage on startup and didn’t see it increase though, but that was just watching it with the task monitor.
Will see about adding additional ram and testing with 16GB.

RE: Ice’s Falcon BMS Profile Updated for BMS 4.37
@linknet - thanks, I see it now in the revision history. Guess I should have updated. Will do it with the 4.36 directory for now until the next version is released and then update.
-
RE: [REL] Dummy D3D DLL's that draws nothing in 3D mode
@delenda - Thanks, our server doesn’t have a graphics card though so good to know its working and that there probably won’t be any update to the DLL. Will look into what changes can be made on the server to troubleshoot.

RE: Ice’s Falcon BMS Profile Updated for BMS 4.37
@linknet I am having the problem again with the kneeboards updating. It looks like it is that same problem as last time where the KneeBoardsUpdate.exe is hardcoded to the 4.36 directory. Is it easy to provide a quick update to that exe? If not as a workaround I can just run an older version of WDP that is pointed to 4.36 to update the kneeboards so Helios can pull it from the 4.36 directory.

RE: [REL] Dummy D3D DLL's that draws nothing in 3D mode
Thanks airtex, yeah that is the link you get to through that thread eventually and is the one we are running. It is the .DLL from Jan 2021. BMS just crashes on our server with it. Thought it might be the new UI but not sure.

RE: [REL] Dummy D3D DLL's that draws nothing in 3D mode
Anyone know if this is still being supported? It looks like the latest version that was working with 4.36 no longer works with 4.37.
Our squad runs a BMS server without a graphics card so just curious if we will need to change servers if it is no longer supported.
Thanks

@linknet said in Ice’s Falcon BMS Profile Updated for BMS 4.36:
The new data in shared memory has to be added as bindings to the Falcon Interface code base.
Thanks, will keep an eye out for an update, until then will just have to struggle with trying to click it with the mouse in the pit.

RE: Ice’s Falcon BMS Profile Updated for BMS 4.37
@linknet - You are probably working on an update already and all this will be for not, but I am curious in learning how Helios does what it does, so I am trying to add the USAF – ECM POD Control Panel to the profile I am running.
When trying to add animation to the Program in Standby, Program is Active, Program is Transmitting, and Fault indicators I don’t see an input interface from falcon for those. How does Helios know what input interfaces exist in Falcon? Does that come from the version of the Helios application, and newer versions of Helios add additional input interfaces from BMS as they become available and we have to wait on a new version of Helios to get this working, or does Helios pull those from BMS automatically, or are they manually configured somewhere? Currently under the Input/Interfaces/Falcon/ECM interfaces I only see power indicator changed and fail indicator changed as the available ECM input interfaces. Am I looking in the wrong location to animate those ECM program indicators or do we just need to wait on an updated version of the Helios application that will add those input interfaces?
Thanks

RE: Ice’s Falcon BMS Profile Updated for BMS 4.37
@JollyFE - I was able to get my modified 4.36-01 version of Ice’s profile working. Don’t tell the Devs but as a temporary workaround I did a compare of my 4.36 Keyfile to the 4.37 Keyfile and added the new callbacks in the 4.37 Keyfile to the 4.36 Keyfile and then loaded that up in 4.37. just did a quick test and Helios is working as it should be. Since I use alternate launcher it is the auto keyfile. I can send you a copy if you want to hack it that way until new proper keyfile is released by Ice for 4.37 and Helios.

RE: Ice’s Falcon BMS Profile Updated for BMS 4.37
@linknet thanks for updating to 4.36. You do an incredible job with this. I am amazed at how complicated it is. You must have some experience in HMI programming.
I changed from flying with Thrustmaster MFDEs Velcroed to my second monitor with extracted displays to this a little over a year ago and I think the only way I would fly without it now would be if VR is even implemented. I finally did an update to this latest version and so far so good. I had to add a few custom changes from the older version I had. Mostly just personal preference items but if you think it might be worth adding to the base here they are
-
Add an idle detent button. (Does one already exist and I am just missing it?)
-
Prevent the comms menu from auto closing when sending the EPU and Chocks request
-
Add a track IR center button to the button menu
-
Add a Headlamp button to the button menu
-
Add an AWACS picture button directly on the button menu for faster access to it (I am working on getting FoxVox to replace this but my mic isnt good enough yet)
-
Add an AWACS declare button directly on the button menu for faster access to it
-
Remove the HMCS from turning on after takeoff. (Still trying to get this to work, removed the set position when the landing gear handle is triggered on the HMCS knob in the HMCS Aux panel, but it is still turning on for some reason. Do I need to set position 1 rather than just removing it?)
Again, great job with this and thanks for all the hard work on it!!!

RE: Falcon BMS Alternative Launcher (Easy Setup, Keep Joystick Assignments)
@chihirobelmo said in Falcon BMS Alternative Launcher (Easy Setup, Keep Joystick Assignments):
What are your devices?
I have a Thrustmaster HOTAS Warthog “Throttle and Stick” and a Cougar Throttle connected via TUSBA TQS R2. I fly with the Warthog Stick and the Cougar Throttle. I don’t use anything on the warthog throttle for now, it is just connected if I want to fly the F18, but that is basically never.

RE: Falcon BMS Alternative Launcher (Easy Setup, Keep Joystick Assignments)
@chihirobelmo Not sure if it was alternate launcher or something I messed up on my own, probably the ladder due to other changes I have been making in parallel with 4.36, but somehow in my Falcon BMS config file the set g_nPOV2DeviceID got set to a DeviceID of 2. It appears this was then in conflict with set g_nPOV1DeviceID which was also set to 2. This resulted in no button presses working when in 3D. AL was detecting the button presses and the button presses were detected and showing correct in the BSM controller settings in the UI. To correct it I changed g_nPOV2DeviceID to 3 and button presses were again working in 3D. Does AL do anything to set the g_nPOV2DeviceID?
