Hello,
Is there any way to select various models (block 40,50 etc) for the TE’s? I would like to practice startup etc on Block 40 or 50 instead of the orange and white model currently loaded for the takeoff training TE.
Thanks

Has anyone else experienced this strange issue on -Ice’s single touchscreen setup Helios profile? Other than these 3 things, everything else works wonderfully.
When touched, the backup TACAN panel tens and ones digits become smaller in size and then freeze on that digit, unable to either go up or down. The hundreds place digit, and the X/Y, however both work fine.
When you press the rotary knobs on the backup UHF panel, all the digits except the hundreds digit disappear immediately. The same goes for the preset channel selector knob as well.
On the HSI the bottom left/right quadrant touch zones will increment/decrement the hdg/crs by one degree per touch as they are supposed to. The upper right/left quadrant touchzones are supposed to change by 5 degrees per touch, however they appear to try to change by 2 degrees initially for a split second, then quickly go back 1 degree and ultimately end up being just a one degree change that takes even a bit longer than using the bottom quadrants…
I am using Windows 7, -Ice’s BMS 4.33 v4.21S Helios profile for his single touchscreen setup, and the latest YAME64 version. Hopefully someone has an answer! Thanks

Hello Wangler…just wondering if you ever got those UHF and TACAN knobs fixed? I have the same issue and can not figure out how to correct it…
Hello Ironman
Could you please tell me how those two issues got fixed? My backup tacan panel numbers lock up, and my backup uhf freq numerals disappear when I click the knob to change them…
Thx
Oh, how do I start here… I guess my big picture is probably the best place. Relative newbie, but have been at this (setting up BMS, Cougar, touchscreen) for almost 3 months now. I’ve been back-and-forth and back-and-forth again through the forums scouring different articles and posts to help me.
I have the game installed and apparently running just fine. I have a triple monitor setup and a 4th touchscreen setup to use for activating all switches, gear handle, etc. I have a used Cougar TQS and Cougar joystick that also appear to work fine so far. I am attempting to use Ice’s Helios profile and YAME setup for the touchscreen part and I am making progress on implementing that - in fact it appears to be working for the most part. However I only just realized that his profile is for Warthog controllers - not Cougar.
So I don’t fully understand how all the different software programs and files (Helios profile, YAME profile, BMS Keyfile, TARGET profile) AFFECT each other. It took so long to finally figure out how to get the Helios to work, YAME to work, the radar cursor button to actually work properly, and a myriad other things that are finally working, that I am extremely hesitant to start experimenting by changing up profiles to get the Cougar correct (like using Dunc’s) when I don’t know they interact! Will changing one setting then change some other setting that will wipe out my hard fought for progress so far?!
I THOUGHT the answer going to be using all Dunc stuff, but then right there in the Dunc‘s Cougar DX Guide, I see these instructions:
Disable any mouse functionality on the Cougar (e.g. microstick):
USE ZERO_MOUSE
DISABLE MOUSE
…am I going to screw up my radar cursor now (which took forever to get working)??
Will having to use his Keyfile in BMS now make Ice’s Helios profile not work? (I don’t know how they interact)
And lastly, I read SOMEWHERE that if I use any sort of programming software like Foxy or TARGET it will disable all DX button assignability? Is that right? If so, how do I get shift DX capability…
so many questions…
Hello Ice -
Thanks for the great profiles and helpful articles - I appreciate the time you take to honestly try to answer the specific line of questioning that others have asked of you.
Since it has been some time since any new posts have occurred, and I am uncertain if the banned status has anything to do with responding on this forum anymore, I will not post my question until/if you are respond to this post…
Thanks again for all your posts and info…
Outstanding! Thank you
Thanks for the specific page references! Also, would you happen to know where I can get/find CCP software for the Cougar?i purchased a used one but had no software discs with it.
Can you tell us how you sorted them and what did the trick…not fully understanding your solution. Thx
I have the game installed and apparently running just fine. I have a triple monitor setup and a 4th touchscreen setup to use for activating all switches, gear handle, etc. I have a used Cougar TQS and Cougar joystick that also appear to work fine so far. I am attempting to use Ice’s Helios profile and YAME setup for the touchscreen part and I am making progress on implementing that - but that is a whole separate subject and I won’t ask questions about that part here. This was just to give you an idea of my setup and intentions on how I would like to operate in BMS.
I want to operate the Cougar HOTAS as faithfully to the actual F-16 as possible in the sim.
First question: when I plugged the Cougar TQS and stick in my PC (Win 7) everything seemed to work. I did not have to search for any drivers on the web etc. Is this normal? I was certain I would have to go through some long process just to get the HOTAS to work at all. The reason I ask is because one of the first Sticky threads in the forum is about how to update your firmware for the Cougar and Win 7… which leads me to question 2…
How/where can I find out if my Cougar is running on an outdated firmware version?
If it IS an older version is it worth risking flashing the Cougar to get the latest firmware? The process in the Sticky to update seems convoluted and could possibly really mess up the Cougar? What does one gain in the update?
Where do I get this CCP program to customize and assign functions for the Cougar? I can’t seem to find any download link for it.
Same question for this “Foxy” program. BTW, is Foxy some old outdated software that has been replaced by something like TARGET? Which should one use?
Almost done…just a couple more sorry!
Well that’s enough for now - I hope you have some time to answer them, I really have to get these figured out before I can play the game…
Thanks!
