roger that - and different tactics based what time period you’re flying - 80-90s yep. Today if we went to war? not sure…I just have always wanted to be in a position of as much stand-off as possible given the technology available - and that tech was not available in the 80s 90s
Thank you for your contributions to the community!
Today, I assume there will a test of the stealth theory - using F-35s for SEAD/DEAD with Growlers and MALDs for confusion-cover.
…right know where i went wrong, in 2nd HAS engagement i did not? wait for the RDY before firing, which caused a miss, on both my attempts.
again great vids, thanks for your time.
John.
During debrief, a good indicator of a premature pickle (before the handoff gives RDY) will look similar to the 88 falling like a bomb – no post-launch climb.
I have to admit that I was a bit evil writing the TE for HAS against an SA-2 - since the EW radar (Spoon Rest) is 1) not in the HARM table and 2) you don’t have enough 88s to use the “SAM Two-step” dance (Kill the EW to force the FC to paint you at a non-engagement distance). This is a homage to the pilots of my generation that had the YGBSM response in the mission brief. Be ready, be confident in your ability, and have patience during the slow handoff - keep at it and soon you will enjoy the view of a missile fly-by.
