I have a rather simple wish: I would be very greatfull if I could enter threat points in 2D theater map by coordinates. To use the threats discovered in the last mission for the next ones…
Thank you to all devs. No matter if implemented or not

I found out that I programmed the shift wrong:
SIM: DX Shift DX3; DX3 SHIFT
Now, I made it according to your advice and it works perfectly.
Thanks a lot!
Is there any light source available before the engine is running? I had the situation that I cound’t see anything in the cockpit before my wingman had his taxi lights on.
I know that it is possible with the keyboard key’s, but thats some kind of annoying.
Thanks for advice.
Hi
In my opinion GPU performance is a major point for an enjoyable/playable VR experience. If your FPS gets to low (<60 fps) (no matter which headset) it starts to loose a lot of it’s immersiveness. It’s the same thing with low resolution (to boost the frame rate) and the fact, that you will have big effect on graphics quality (readability of MFD and numbers, kneeboard, etc).
In conclution: You have to think about getting a complete new hardware setup otherwise the weakest element in the chain will tear your VR experience down. Otherwise with just a good headset you may get very disappointed…
I run a valve index with a RTX 4090 and before I had a RTX 2080Ti and made the upgrade because of VR implementation in Falcon with 4.37. Now I use about 60% of the 4090 for the index. Soon I will go for an Quest 3 to get more out of my VR setup…
May there is a way, that you can try somewhere how it is before you make big investments…
@Echo said in Has anyone bought and tested the TM TQS?:
And don’t be supriesed the switch from “Pitch ALT HOLD / A/P / ATT HOLD” is not movin in 3D, at least when i tested it in the GroundOPs TE
May F-16 avionics does not allow AP settings on the ground because of safety reasons You don’t really want to try to take off with AP working
Are you sure that you use the same key-file in the launcher like in the sim? In the launcher you use the “BMS-Auto” key file… make sure that this is the same which is connected to your profile settings in the game…
Honestly, I don’t know.
But, as I heard, it is more sustainable for future BMS - versions to use the new one… That means that you can kind of export them easily or simply use the older one…
Here my settings for the throttle axis and cut off in pictures.
This is how the TQS Software registers “cut off” position" or “not in cut off”.
“Cut off” --> Button 18 is active
“Idle” and up to Full AB --> Button 18 is not active
To get into this menu in Windows10 you have to go to “settings” typ in “gamecontroller” and choose the Viper TQS…
How I made the settings:
Keymapping in BMS Launcher
Axis mapping in BMS Launcher:
Full MIL
Full AB
“IDLE DETENT” is not needed in Axis mapping.
The “AB DETENT” has to be placed very few in front of the point were you have to lift the throttle in AB…
Hope that can help…
Sorry, I had to mention that I do the key and axis-mapping only in the bms launcher. It’s far more easier than in the game itself. Especially if you have more than 2 devices…
@Echo
It’s the other way around:
TQS: CUTOFF RELEASE - Idle Detent - Idle --> DX18 RELEASE
TQS: CUTOFF RELEASE - Idle Detent - Off --> DX18
Kind of a pressed DX18 means “cut off” and a released “idle”.
@huffer2
Yes, it works correctly.
Instead of clicking this “hidden” or mapped cut off button virtually you do it like the real thing. Check this out:
A real benefit I figured out is: that you can fly proper Full MIL and not accidentally slip into the AB (fuel saving). The transition between Full MIL and AB is actually quite smooth I think. Even though it looks quite rough in reviews…
Since there is a much bigger travel on the throttle axis I really have to change my muscle memory on landings compared to the TM Cougar Throttle…
Your welcome…
I have the TM Viper TQS (not the mission pack one) and it works with BMS without an issue. The only thing which is tricky is the “idle detent” “idle” or “off”. The throttle axis is not all the way down into cut off position. Instead it behaves like a “button” and it has to be programmed like for “idle”: Button is “released” and “off” for button is “pushed/on”. By the way, when the throttle is in AB position it is also been detected as a pushed button, but that is not necessary for BMS, because the Axis goes to the maximum forward position and you can define the AB threshold at your desire.
Overal I think the TM Viper TQS is definitly an improvement compared to the TM cougar one…
