Military Equipments Usage by Countries and Dates
-
Do you know if existing and where to find a Databases of military equipments in use by countries and dates ?
Would be useful to create scenarios using actual material in use at a given time.

@CheckPoint DB of Command Modern Warfare and their forum.

The most comprehensive and complete reference for such are the Janes Defense “All the World’s…” Annual publications - the (very) expensive hardbound editions. Sometimes you can find these in libraries, but they may not be current.
Other than this you can simply Google a weapons system and generally get such info. But Janes are THE recognized unclass, open source authority.

@Stevie
I know where to find the information on the net.
I was just wondering is someone already put all that together. -
@tiag
Will have a look.
Was thinking of the Wargame series as well (AirLand Battle, Red Dragon, …). -
@CheckPoint they are tweaked for balanced and often are wrong.
Look also at the ORBAT and TO&E of Armored Brigade and DLCs, Close Combat and Flashpoints Campaigns. CMO 's DB is better for planes, ships etc and not for ground units. -
@tiag
Best things I have found so far to answer my need are the different lists of material on Wikipedia.Ex :
- https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_fighter_aircraft
- https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_bomber_aircraft
- https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_main_battle_tanks_by_generation
- https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_main_battle_tanks_by_country
- …
It would need to be combined together to create a database … Unit / Using Contry / Commision date / Decomission date
