How To Get Started with flying the Falcon?

http://tomsflightart.jimdo.com/terrain-and-jets/ Mind you that’s the terrain pack and not the models back I’m talking about (which I’m less enamored with) and read the instructions as merging folders leads to graphical artifacts. You can use JSGME if you like but it’s just a simple mod file handler and doing things manually is perfectly reasonable.

And that’s the minor HUD improvement.I’ll take a look mate But what is JSGME?

sooooo i was going to take a flight now… And guess what? My joystick don’t working…
And i can’t find the controls anywhere?
Sooo, here i’am sitting and just looking at the plane…
My joystick is Thrustmaster(yeah, i know, cheap shit, but its a beginning, Got throttle btw ^-^) But yeah, Thrustmaster T-flight Hotas x
So, non flying on me before i get to fix the problem…

Thrustmaster doesnt automatically mean cheap shit… Probably the most common brand for the high end (price wise, not necessarily skill wise) users. Thrustmaster Cougar and Thrustmaster Warthog are pretty common sticks to use with BMS, and I dont think anyone would accuse them of being cheap shit.
Some might argue the shit part*, but definitely not the cheap part XD
*(Im pretty happy with mine though)

thinking of buying Warthog. But back to the problem

It’s a simple file shuffling program that’s useful for modding games that work on file adding/replacement. The idea is that you have:
\Game
\Game\JSGME.exe
\Game\path\texture.file (example)If you want to replace texture.file with a modded one you would put the new one in
\Game\MODS\ModName\path\texture.file
Then when you run JSGME.exe there will be a “ModName” entry in the list with an arrow to apply this mod folder’s contents. It then takes the contents of folder \ModName\ and applies it to the root where JSGME.exe ran. The result is that \ModName\path\texture.file will overwrite \Game\path\texture.file.
The upshot is it makes backups and tracks multiple mods that handle the same file and so on so there’s always an “undo” button and you’re back to unmodded.

Hi, now i know why i don’t got the joystick to work… My game crashes when i’m trying to go to setup… uninstalled the game now. And don’t want to install it again before i know it will work… Tried to install it 3 times now.
-
Don’t apply any addons or mods until you get your game working.
-
For sure not. But do you have any sugestions?
-
Reinstall woithout mods and watch if it works

Good idea! just try to run Falcon 4.0 whitout bms
-
Do NOT install Falcon4.0 …… BMS is a Stand alone application. The installer only needs to know that you have a copy of the original Falcon4.0 , then it will allow you to install BMS.

Oki, roger that!

Did a new try, installed the game “again” Did it the right way, pointing the bms installer to the “falcon.BMS Folder”. When i tried lanching the game, it works fine. But when i’m trying to go to SETUP the game crashes… What did i do wrong?
-
SETUP like the button to configure your joystick? Next to Logbook and Exit?
What does your BMS version number show in the lower right corner of the main menu?

Yes, that button.
Lower Right corner: Falcon BMS 4.32.7(x86) Build 12391

Do you by chance have the movie intro turned on? It may not be related, but worth while checking.
-
That’s the weirdest thing. I’m trying to think of what would cause the game to run but crash on the SETUP screen. Some sort of corrupt files in user\config? Is the preview 3D pane box checked?

What? hear some music and speeking in the background. But can’t turn it off. Maybe it’s in the setup menu?
