Help: How to assign DX SHIFTED functions?
-
Heya-
I am asking for help here…
Does anyone know a tutorial or manual on how to assign shifted functions to HOTAS buttons in the key file? I know I had something, but cannot find it anymore.
I still can’t seem to read the key file or make any sense out of it, so I wouldn’t know what to insert / add / remove. All I can do is to assign keys in the Falcon UI and then save the key file as a backup
However, to add shifted function I guess I need to edit the file. Did it before, but as I said I can’t find the manual I used back then.I already figured out that in 4.33, the pinky switch is already working as shift button and the POV 1 already has the TRIM functions assigned to it in shifted mode.
That’s what I had to add manually in the key file in previous versions I think. Great. I use that a lot! Now, specifically I want to assign TRACK_IR_RECENTER as shifted function to COMMS_SWITCH_DOWN.
Can anybody help with this?
Thanx in advance!!

Just crossed this bridge earlier…
You need to go to Falcon BMS 4.33->Docs->Key Files & Input
Fire up Excel spreadsheet called BMS Key File Editor.
Click on “Keystrokes Editor” page
Define your Locale
Import your Key File by clicking “Import key file”
select “DX Device”
Click DX Settings page
Select your devices on left column and give them the appropriate number (see manual - the number is where the controller is on the control panel controller list).
Click the page for your controller (e.g. SaitekX52pro)
Edit the blue column (don’t copy and paste!) with the desired labels for shifted and unshifted states. The shifted button is defined by “SimHotasPinkyShift”.
Go back to “keystrokes editor” and export.
