Mud's Profile

@Mud:
I have no idea what the cause of that is, Kushviper.
Someone in this thread solved it by doing the following: https://www.benchmarksims.org/forum/showthread.php?8844-Mud-s-Profile&p=340772&viewfull=1#post340772
Mud, I got myself into trouble taking the advise of deleting and reinstalling 4.33…now I have the dreaded
Thanks M8, I guess I’m stuck flying DCS, CLoD, RoF, BoS…lol and none of those seem to be a true Sim like Falcon BMS…
Cheers and Salute

I had this issue as well. All you need to do is reinstall Falcon 4.0 and (re)create the BMS directory where it is looking for it. just make a new folder in C:\Falcon BMS 4.33, this worked for me. Best of luck.
EDIT: Just realized you didn’t uninstall the actual base game. This should still work though.

Hi Mud,
I tried your latest version yesterday. I’m still having trouble with the DX buttons, none of these are working for me, no idea why. Some other keybinds aren’t working either, for example Radar Tilt Up. I tried to find out why, and it turns out 0x40 is not F6 for me, it’s F7. This might be so because of my Spanish keyboard, and the same may happen with other locales.
So, for anyone having similar trouble, i suggest the following:
-No DX buttons: Edit Mud’s .key file, copy all DX commands from the original .key file to enable in game. Comment out all DX commands in the script (add // at the start of the line), then bind the functions in game, setup - controls page. DX buttons in this profile are all the stick buttons, the airbrake, and the UHF/VHF push-to-talk buttons.
-Other bindings not working: In game, go to the setup, controls page. Push the button that isn’t working, and the game will tell you which key combination the script is calling (in my case, Radar Tilt Up button was calling Control+F7 instead of Control+F6). Then look for the desired function on the list, and bind the correct combination to it.
Hope this helps, i’m now flying with all commands functional.

Updated to 3.03:
- Missile cage / uncage was not bound in the keyfile.
-
Hi, everything works great in 3.03. I also have the mfd’s and all the buttons etc work fine.
However some of the buttons when pressed make the windows “ding” noise. It’s hard for me to describe but it’s the same noise you get when you press an incorrect key or something. The function within the sim still works it’s just that I get that annoying noise. The light switch on the throttle for example when I return it to the center position.
Does anyone else get this? can anyone help me out?
Cheers!
-
Sounds as if the keybind commands are somehow being passed to Windows as well. So for instance the paddle switch will pass “L” to BMS. Pressing “L” while on the Windows desktop for instance will result in the “ding”.
Weird … -
Hi Mud,
Yeah that’s exactly what happens. It’s not all of the keys. A few on my right mfd and a few switches on the throttle. I’m going to reinstall all the drivers etc next week and see if that cures it.
-
I worked what the problem was. It was nothing to do with your profile etc. I have my mfd’s etc exported to another monitor. These were in a windowed mode. So when I pressed the buttons on my mfd cougar it would ping because it was outside the main window if that makes sense? Anyway I just turned off the borders in the cockpit config and extraction and it all works fine now.
Cheers Mud for a great profile.

Thanks for the update and info, Muley. I’m glad you got that sorted.
I just noticed that my diagram doesn’t show DMS down long, I’ll update that this weekend.
Anyway, DMS down long toggles your HMCS on and off. -
Nice one very handy
-
Haha, I need more sleep. Thank the BMS team, not me. That DMS down is part of BMS itself
TO-BMS1F-16CM-34-1-1.pdf
1.11.2 Hands-on HMCS Blanking
The display management switch (DMS) enables and disables HMCS display. A DMS-aft and hold for ≥ 0.5 seconds
toggles the HMCS between displaying symbology and not displaying symbology. This feature is independent of the
HUD or CKPT blanking states. Hands-on-control blanking overrides all other blanking including the HUD blanking
feature and cockpit blanking feature until the HMCS display is redisplayed via a second DMS-aft for ≥ 0.5 seconds.
When the symbology is being blanked, the system behaves as if a helmet is not in the avionic system and returns to
baseline ACM operation and baseline missile bore operation. -
So I tried to use my MFDs with this profile, but it keeps aborting. I don’t really know how to fix this, so maybe someone here can help me. I’ve attached a screenshot of the error.
I tried installing the TM drivers, and it didn’t fix anything. If I unplug the MFDs, the profile works fine.
Tried uninstalling everything, then plugging each device in, starting TARGET, closing it, plugging in the next, starting TARGET, so on and so on until I had every thing plugged in. It worked fine until the throttle went dead halfway through a mission. Back out, restarted the game, everything worked fine. Then about 10 minutes in, all the controls went down. Exited the game to see why, and something had “disconnected” itself, aborting the script. At a loss at this point. IT works fine most of the time, and it’s really nice to be able to use my MFDs finally. Just kind of frustrating to have to restart the game like that.
-
If you’re running Windows 8 or 10, then most likely the advanced power saving features are the cause. It basically puts USB devices to sleep, causing the TARGET software to believe they’re disconnected.
This solved it for me:

Hey Mud!!
I was looking forward to finally using my TM warthog in BMS. BUT…
When I open TARGET and open the .tmc i get this Error (Compile error: could not find:“file directory”) something like that at least. I opened the file in TARGET script editor, and got the same error there when I compiled, I’ve tried to // on the startup for BMS.
And finally, the (include:“target.thm”) is red in the script editor.
Hopefully this is enough information for you too know what the problem is, would love to make it work.
Tried a lot of shit to make it work, but no results…
(the .Key is added in BMS config directory) and the .tmc is located on the desktop (tried some other locations to) -
Hey Dasolskinn,
That’s odd. It’s normal that the include “target.tmh” is red. Other than that the only thing I could think of is the startup BMS, but since you’ve commented that out it means we can rule that on out.
Do you have the same when you try and load another script from someone here? If so, perhaps you’ll have to reinstall the TARGET software.Br,
Mud

It seemed very odd to me to
I’ve tried morphine’s and one more (a combination of yours and morphine’s) and I get the same compile error. I’ve also tried to reinstall TARGET.
I have tried it once I’m DCS, and the script worked, but never used it (thought it would be better to map myself).
I tried to open your file as a .fcf once, and I got it to run, but it didn’t work (I can’t remember how, so I may have missclicked and opened a preset by TM).
PS: I followed a tutorial on how to start the script and what else by: Sim deck, video is called “warthog BMS profile”.
-
Could you copy and paste the text at the bottom of the TARGET Script Editor window here after you run it?
-
GUI
Script editorI don’t understand how It can’t find it
Btw, I have tried running TARGET as admin and with compatibility mode (8.1 - 7 - XP) and your file is marked safe-ish (checked a box in properties that said it was a file from another computer.) -
Weird indeed. As if TARGET doesn’t have rights there, but if it wouldn’t then it wouldn’t even be able to open the file.
For the sake of testing try putting the .tmc in another location (non users) and see what that does. -
Hey Mud,
I’m a CH Products user thinking about somehow getting the Warthog stick and throttle, and wonder if there is any similarity with CH. I noticed your Mud.key didn’t have DX assignments at the end, whereas in my key file, after the BMS Full.key entries, each button/hat has DX numbers assigned by CH Control Manager software. And then in a Notepad editor, I just assign the DX numbers to the callbacks, based on Kolbe’s advice. I wonder if I could do this with the Thrustmaster Warthog gear. If that is possible, would I still need to use your profile, which everyone agrees is really good?
