BMS 4.33 half-working
-
Hi guys,
After a couple of days of having BMS 4.33 installed on my computer, it suddenly sort of stopped working…I say “sort of” as I can still access the launch page and the main menu. Now, when I click say on INSTANT ACTION, the next screen loads. However, when I click on TAKE OFF, nothing happens.
I still have 4.32 installed and it still works fine…
any idea why or how I could fix it? (FYI I’m not a computer guy so I’d appreciate some dumbed down explanation if I have to make some changes anywhere haha). The only think that I can think of is there was an Windows 10 update. I have no idea what was updated though.
Cheers!

PS: I have tried both in 64 bit, which was was I was running 4.33 on until it stopped, as well as in 32 bit and nada. I click on TAKE OFF, the little paravute icons shows up and I have to shut the game down via the task manager….
Help

Try deleting display.ini in the config folder.
-
Hi Mower! Thanks for helping out.
do you mean the dx9dispaly file? I have no dispaly.ini file…
-
I deleted the dx9dispalay file to no avail…
I saw other people had the same issue but haven’t seen any solutions to the problem yet.
thanks so much

I have now reverted the windows updates from yesterday, re installed FALCON 4 as well as Falcon BMS 4.33…and it just won’t work. What I don’t understand is that I now have the EXACT same configuration as when it was working perfectly…What could it be?

Try reinstall. Totally clean. See if that is better.

hi Icarus. I ve done that but no changes. still freezes when clicking on TAKE OFF…

Do not install original Falcon4 from CD, just point to the CD for verification during 4.33 install.
I suggest to uninstall and clean registry from Falcon stuff, then start installing 4.33.

Hi lazy stone. I ll give that a go. I always thought one had to have falcon 4 installed in order to run bms. I don’t think this is what prevents the game from running normally though as I had f4 installed when bms was working. thanks ks for the tip.

And try installing to a different path then you had previously.

Hi Shadow,
Any specific path in mind mate?Cheers for the tip, I’ll give it a whirl
-
HI mate…I reinstalled bms to a different path than before and ran a regedit but no dice… thanks a lot for your help though

Did your windows update by any chance download new graphics drivers on you?
-
I have no idea. I reverted all updates but maybe not the gfx ones… I went into my Nvidia setup program but have no idea what the configuration should be. If I play around with it, BMS 4.32 stop working. Ideally I’d need to know what the graphic card configuration for 4.33 should be.
cheers mate
