Mod request, Stock KTO in 1990-1995 timeframe
-
The requrest is under specified.
Are you asking OOB changes in cam files? How deep should be?*
Are you asking furter DB tweaks on battalion level?*
Are you asking sensor tweaks?*Now I know the stucture of WPACT and with this knowledge I can understand this. (From page 117 you can see the division/regiment/battalion structure.)
https://fas.org/nuke/guide/dprk/nkor.pdfClose to 1:1 scale should be modeled the theater? Regiment and battalion sizes should be rescaled or the total qty. of battalion should be less according to scale of OBB?
-
Only Air to Air part modifed would be enough for me.
And MLU F-16’s are nogo in 1990-1995 i think, no color mfd
No jdams , AIM-9X’s etc
No need to be hardcore modification. So no need to OBB mod’s.
-edit- im just tired to curent state, we have uber new F-16’s, more smart standoff weapons , better tgp’s than ever in Falcon and same time Red side AI is not get enough brains to Keep up with all this. Sam’s and units wont move enough so they are easy preys for jsow’s etc… (This is just me and i think that im alone with this feeling) -edit ends-

If you give me exact OOB for sq. I can make with about an 30 min or less works. Just list the qty. of sq. and where you wish to see them. I can’t add new carrier squadrons but I can change their type. If Tacedit still works even with 4.33 should not be any issue to make it.

Just take out all planes and weapons that are not avaible in year 1995 and if need change F-16s to non MLU jets / blocks that are in use 1995. Simple
Red sid is ok, some R-77s to mig29’s maybe and mig 17/19 s to mig21/23 so bit more challenge
Thats it

If you need more info just ask.
No need to complex mod.
And no hurry, my christmas holiday is still about 1,5 week away
Thank you.

Likely I can do it on Sunday.

I actually just did something alone these lines, though with a target of 1989.
Basically I left ground portion as it is, apart from switching some of the tank/etc battalions to versions with less advanced SAMs (no SA-15s)
For the air part, removed aircraft that didnt belong in timeframe via teplanes.lst, and edited everything remaining to bring the weapons in line with timeframe.
This left an interesting mix of aircraft and weapons, with the absence of JDAMs, limited numbers of LGBs, no AIM120 or 9X, and very few standoff weapons.
I’ve been considering posting it as a downloadable, but I don’t know if theres any considerations to be made considering its all stock edits and no ‘original’ work on my behalf.

Here’s my edited theater I mentioned earlier;
http://www.mediafire.com/download/wc822nmvh5y02p2/Add-On_Korea_EM1989_v1.0.rarUnzip that into your BMS\Data folder, and then add Add-On Korea EM1989\Terrdata\theaterdefinition\Korea EM1989.tdf to the bottom of BMS\Data\Terrdata\theaterdefinition\theater.lst on a new line.
Should show up in the custom theaters list in BMS.This is for BMS 4.33 only.
As said, it is intended to be mid-late 1989, and I’ve tried to restrict airframes and weapons to match that. If you do see anything that seems out place in that era, I apologize for the oversight or error.
A few notes;
1. This was designed for personal use, and while I tried to clean up the files and make sure there are no old saves or anything laying around, I apologize if I missed something.
2. The loading screens and menu are all stock stuff, I have no idea how to change those.
3. TEs and Campaign should work fine - no promises about instant action or dogfights, as I have no idea how those interact with the allowed plane lists.
4. The install should be self contained - to delete, simply delete the Add-On Korea EM1989 folder from BMS\Data, and remove the new line from the theater.lst file.Anyone who downloads it, feel free to adjust, redistribute or do what you will with it. I take no responsibility for anything that goes wrong.

Yes, this is for 4.33 only. Sorry, I should have made that clear in the original post. Have edited it to include that.

I can have a look at making a variant with an early 90s timeframe based off this, though would need to decide on the specific date. 1992 would mean AIM120 is still new, so AIM7 would still be more important. Not that many other new weapons. A later date like 1994 might be a good choice, since it would mean more widespread use of AIM120A (and maybe small numbers of 120B), AGM130, maybe some R77, Chinese Su-27s, etc.

Sounds just what i like to play 1994-1995 would be nice, no MLU F-16s yet so monochrome MFD’s only

First mission in Elouda’s theatre edit and really enjoying it so far (especially the Shrikes) - thank you!

Thanks for this, I will test it out! Do you know of any similar process to add objectives to the map? There is a theater with important mountain passes that ground forces should occupy, but there is no objective for them to stick to…

F4B is not the recommended tool anymore. I quit modding therefore I cannot give help. In this area A.S. is your man as I can remember.
