Falcon BMS Crashes when Oculus Software is running
-
Hi folks. I have been trying to get Falcon BMS to work on the Rift using Virtual Desktop. I have seen several videos that say this is possible but I cannot get it to work. If the oculus desktop software is running and I launch BMS it crashes as soon as it gets past the splash screen and is trying to launch the main menu. If the Rift software isn’t running then BMS runs flawlessly. I suspect that maybe it has something to do with the low resolution of the main menu?!?
My system is an i7, 16gigs of RAM, SSD, Rift CV1 and a GTX 1070. I don’t have any issues with any other games. If anyone has seen this before or has suggestions I am all ears. Thanks in advance!

Try running BMS in Windowed mode. You’ll also want to have Opentrack running prior to launching Virtual Desktop to get the TrackIR headtracking working. You can’t use the Virtual Desktop 90 hz override feature with BMS (that is, you can’t launch BMS from the tab in Virtual Desktop for games). Instead you run Virtual Desktop, and then just use your usual Windows shortcut / .exe to run BMS.
