Lock axismapping?
-
Neither my aging brain nor a quick search for “lock axis” returned a good answer. Fort reasons I can’t explain, my throttle and rudder keep getting mapped to the keyboard even when my TM WH throttle and rudder are plugged it. Remapping them repeatedly is a pain. Do I lock out changes by making the file read-only or is that ancient history?

You can still set the joystick.cal and axismapping.dat files to read only to prevent permanent changes but that is no magic fix. If BMS thinks it sees something different from those files it will still go to default. The only thing setting read only does is make it so you don’t need to re work the calibration. You would still need to close and re open BMS after fixing what it thinks was different that caused the default config to be selected in the first place.
Going to take a stab and guess you are using DX programming but didn’t set the devicesorting file?
Either way what you are seeing is BMS thinks something is changed and/or missing from your last configuration thus why you are seeing the default config pop up.
