Automatic VHS recording?
-
A person I know just played three online matches without intending to record any VHS footage. He later found a 1.8GB VHS file in his record folder. He said he never pressed the F button nor had first stage trigger binded to his stick. Is it possible for BMS to start recording through other means?

BMS-Manual (in your \Falcon BMS 4.33 U1\Docs\Falcon BMS Manuals folder) page 20.
Command line parameters can be added to the BMS shortcut. Right click the BMS icon and click Properties.
In the Shortcut tab, the path to the launcher is given in the target box. All command line parameters must be
separated from the exe with a space, then add them as they are displayed below. More than one command
line parameter can be set.For instance: “C:\Falcon BMS 4.33 U1\Launcher.exe” –window –nomovie
-acmi: Will automatically start ACMI recording each time you enter 3D.

Could have accidentally clicked the ACMI record switch on the AVtR panel. If it was such a big file, it sounds like his sim crashed on exit - normally they get compressed afterwards.
I had a 70 GB one yesterday. Filled up the drive completely and caused BMS to be unable to compress it - and tacview to be unable to read it.

Possibly. The default for switching on the AVTR switch is 30 seconds recording after every trigger press though, so I’d expect lots of little files rather than 1 big one.
Crash on exit would leave .flt file(s), instead of .vhs though, unless he then went back into BMS, into 3d, didn’t record, then exited and let BMS convert the .flt(s) file into .vhs.
I did both today incidentally while testing a newer version and all the little .flt files were converted into seperate .vhs ones. I wont do that again

I guess that’s it. AVtR. The guy probably didn’t mess around with his BMS launch config since he just installed it during the weekend. Thanks, Blu3wolf and Darkman. Will pass the message along
