NEW ICP/DED app for Android/iOS
-
Any estimates on the US iOS version?
3-4 weeks yes?
-
I will buy the proversion when it comes (ios). Liked the freeversion (lucky me) ICP/DED on my iPhone5. Works a lot better than similar apps for CDU on A-10C I wrestled with in DCS when they came… This I like.

Purchased both. Will test soon.
Hopefully both products can be made to coexist on one device (iPad)

Hello,
I had problems with both ICP / DED pro and Device pro. There were the right keys deposited but the buttons did not go. Simple solution to the problem, the “AutoItX3.dll + BMSServer.exe” in this folder “\ Falcon BMS 4.33 U1 \ Bin \ x64” and start from here as an administrator.

The ICP/DED is a great application. Following the instructions I got it working in 5 minutes. Thanks !!
One question: is it possible to arrange the display horizontally? If not, it could be an useful addition. -
Sorry I don’t know landscape things. But pro version has been released

It seems i didn’t express my self correctly.
By “landscape” i mean with the ipad set horizontally. I mean, with the longest side of the tabblet being the base of the screen. I hope you understand what i mean.
So, again, the ipad position to be like this…
-
My ex does not work in horizontally mode, only standing mode. So can only have one function up at a time, ie Icp/ded or rwr or cautionpanel. But I have icp up on my iphone and the rwr/caution on my ipad. Want to buy one more iPad in the future…

Hi.
I am… ihopi~! I mean… developer of this app.
Most of all, thank you all for using this appHere’s some answer and dev schedule.
Currently, landscape mode will not supported for this app.
However, there will be another free landscape DED display app will be released.
You can use this new app for DED display data only. (like iphone and small sized mobile devices)- There will be custom key input UI for this app.
- Additional RWR integrated for this app.
- Some CPD functions will be included for BMS Device pro. (not sure yet)
If you have trouble to use this app, feel free to contact me anytime.
Regards

ihopiThanks ihopi for the answer.
I tried the BMS ICP and i like it a lot, but i have to say that landscape support would be the feature that i’m most interested right now. Since landscape mode it’s the most comfortable, and safest, way for me to use my ipad on my desk while flying. My wishlist, if i’m allow to do that, besides what you mention would be:
- An app version ICP and Device Pro together, and i can change from one to the other via button or slide of the screen.
- Some cockpit pannels like the front left pannel, the left auxiliary console, the NAV mode knob, and so on.
Thanks and best of luck with the app.

Hi.
The landscape mode is safest way to use… ok. I agree.
But, that will cause design problem.
Currently, I can’t imagine how to make a new design for the landscape mode.
So, sorry for not being able to make it.And I was really want to make ICP and Device pro together, but that will also cause design problem.
For the IPAD, the DEVICE Pro fits perfectly. I mean Full screen.
But the other devices, (like iphones, other android devices) if I make Device Pro to full screen, the RWR circle will be ellipse.
ICP/DED can and must go to full screen, so I decided to make two different app.As for the DEVICE Pro version, I will add some features.
After integrated another RWRs, I will make another set of buttons and gauges.
This app is not finished yet, so keep watching. Thanks for your advice, I’ll keep in mind.
Have a nice day~ -
Heres a quickie video I made showing the two apps:
- BMS ICP/DED Device Pro
- BMS PFD DEVICE PRO
Mini review:
Pros:
- Works well as a touch panel for the ICP, DED, PFD (Pilot Fault Display or enunciator panel)
- Ran well off my iP6 and iPad2,
- Both apps can run at the same time off the same device (read con below for details) or off two devices.
- Has a day or night view mode for the ICP/DED (not for the PFD afaik)
- Inexpensive and easy to install and run. (read the instructions)
- wireless makes it easy to use as long off the same router as the PC with BMS
Cons:
- Instructions did not come with the app nor the download file. Had to go to the manual link on a browser
- Could not run both apps on the same device side by side (concurrently).
- Had to go to the iPhone desktop and swtich apps to switch ICP/DED to PFD and again to go back. Basically, need two devices to run both.
- I could not get the thumb wheels to do anything as in the sim.
- Tried the BMS FULL keymapping file and theres nothing to target using the CONTROL GUI for this app.
Overall, I like it. A lot easier than setting up a touch panel display off your PC using HELIOS or remote display software. Far far cheaper than a dedicated hardware ICP or DED.
The two aspects Id like to see improved on are:
1. Allow both apps to run at the same time in landscape mode.
2. Allow the thumb wheels to be used as in BMS. -
Thank you for the review of this app AV8R.
I finally know why you want the ICP/DED app’s landscape mode.
IPAD at the center of the desk… That’s the problem!
How about position the device left side or right side for the convenience. ^^
Anyway… I’ll consider the landscape mode seriously. At DEVICE Pro, you can swipe right or left (from the edge) to change the RWR and W.Panel.
And you can switch between different apps more conveniently.
Just double push the home button of the pad, and select other apps from there.Thank you again!
-
Hope this image might give you a few ideas.
All in goodwill. I use it with touch-control as my icp, together as you can see with some other switches that you use in the sim and sometime it becomes a pain in the a$$ to have to click it with the mouse, being available on the ipad makes it much more easier to use.
The point is the the icp maybe does not have to be so big as with the BMS icp app you made. Maybe full size with DED on the side, either left or right. I made it using ICE touch-control profile, which was also made with the iPad to be in vertical position, which was uncomfortable for me, and the iPad was falling backward the whole time, it was very annoying. :D.Best of luck!

Sorry for changing the subject of the thread, but what do you use to give a real display to those MFD? Which i beleive are the Trustmaster MFD which i also have.
If you dont want to “contaminate” the thread with my question let me know and i will ask you via personal message, if you are ok with that. -
At the expense of hijacking the OP, ill address what i use question briefly, as it will also show Ihopi that i bought his product to support developers within our sim space, not that I needed it. So too with Thrustmaster and all the Falcon, DCS, IL2 software. Plus i enjoy learning the different hardware and software tech.
Ihopi, even more important than landscape mode with two or more devices available at a time (which makes sense for pads/tablets, more than smart phones); would be:
A. Making the ICP thumb wheels functional based off the keyboard mode and bms keymapping file.
B. Ability to read a user accessable mapping file, albiet the BMS one or your own.I use 7" MIMO USB LCD monitors behind the TM Cougar MFDs. Then BMS extractor for the MFD data. If I had to do it again, would consider 8" lcds. They didnt exist when i did it years ago.
For the ICP, in the past I made a custom Helios ICP displayed on a 7" Mimo usb lcd touch-panel.
Then I made my own hardware ICP using real and Vipercore parts. Very expensive and time consuming. Parts are hard to find. But extremely satisfying when done right.
Now I use Redneck’s hardware ICP made from his 3D printer (smaller than mine).
