Dual Control
-
Folks,
I’m sure it’s easy, so I must be missing something really simple…
I’ve an x-box controller and a Logitec Extreme 3D Pro hooked up to my windows box.
I’d love to control the radar cursor with the x-box controller and the rest of the gubbins with the joystick.
Is this set up supported? If so, how?
Thanks,

Just an update. I think that the issue is the order in which the software enumerates my controllers. So I set up all the things for the 3D Pro, then plugged in the X-box thing.
Under windows the controllers are called:
Logitech Extreme 3D
Controller (XBOX 360 For Windows)So i think what is happening is that the enumeration is in alphabetical order. So C comes before L and all of my settings for my 3D get bumped back by the number of buttons on the 360 Controller.
Any thoughts?
Thanks.

Okay, this is slow going, but I guess the DeviceDefaults.txt file has some default mappings. I’ll modify that.

Bms433 change notes:
Direct Input devices (joysticks, MFDs, boards etc.) can now be sorted to specific positions as desired via a new config file “DeviceSorting.txt” in the “User\Config” directory. That means even by unplugging stuff and replugging it, the DX button numbers won’t change anymore.

WOW! I thought that was the issue. Cool. So mine now says:
{028E045E-0000-0000-0000-504944564944} “Controller (XBOX 360 For Windows)”
{C215046D-0000-0000-0000-504944564944} “Logitech Extreme 3D”And I just recalibrated all of the buttons. And turned the axis input stuff off for the 360 controller.
Cheers, that’s appreciated. I’ll copy that file out as it’s important to my future setups.
Thanks.

The devil is in the details. As in pages 49-50 in the BMS 433 User Manual.
