Come on guys , i have tried the manuals also, numerous times, and yes, for some it make perfect sence, for others, WE need time and patience. So WHAT
I see what you’re talking about now…. all I can say is — you expect to get help with that sort of attitude?

dave, here’s another attempt at your questions. I won’t bother with keyboard commands or anything. Instead I’ll tell you like you have an F-16 in your driveway at home. It’s limited information but hopefully it will provide a kind of big picture guidance which promotes more understanding. From that the details of “well what key do I press to” come later.
1. The nosewheel steering is activated by a button on the side stick controller which is mounted on the forward part of the right console. This button also controls air to air refueling disconnect and other combat functions summarized by the term “missile step.” The default key file is split up into logical groups for example the consoles from left to right. Knowing where any control is in the cockpit helps find it in the key file. Knowing that the same button may have an unofficial name “missile step” aids in finding it even though you may be looking for a different title.
The wheel brakes are controlled by tilting the rudder pedals forward, left and right bindable as axes. There is also a single keyboard command to apply both brakes fully. I didn’t know where to find this command either as it isn’t within the normal left-to-right cockpit sweep of the key layout. So I opened the BMS Keystrokes - Defaults.pdf and searched for “brake” finding it in Section 6, Miscellaneous, 6.01 Other Cockpit Controls.
2. The TGP has a variable field of view controlled in two ways. First is a wide or narrow choice selected by a button at the base of the SSC called the Pinky Switch. Alternatively this selection can be made on the MFD itself. In addition the manual range knob applies a continuous change in magnification with either field of view selection made previously. The range knob is found on the throttle and may be controlled as an axis or as buttons to increase/decrease. Knowing that the throttle is on the left side, the name of the control, and that it will be listed logically in the mentioned PDF finding the place in the key file is possible.
The TGP is not changed from standby to normal use by the uncage command and must be done so by buttons on the appropriate MFD.
3. The radar is generally moved by the cursor which is a directional control on the throttle handle. The cursor may also be pressed as the enable command. The cursor and its button are collectively referred to as cursor-enable.
Locking is generally managed by manipulation of the target management switch (TMS), a four-direction hat switch on the SSC. Pressing TMS up locks and TMS down unlocks. TMS manipulation has a large number of effects in various modes and depending on the length of time it is held in each direction or even if double-tapped.

UK keyboard? Try changing the control by highlighting the entry blue and pressing a key and see if that works.

i can change the assignment in controls but this f16 is nt steering at all……i am desperate now

The missile step button on the stick controls missiles (duh), NWS, and the AAR refueling socket. I’m pretty sure the condition for NWS activation is electric power, gear is down, weight on wheels, AAR door closed. The light is on the short stalk right of the HUD.
Try committing to a taxi start so the airplane is already started as a reasonable condition of testing. Try using different buttons in controls avoiding joystick profiling software for testing, spacebar even. The goal is to get that green text “NWS” on that right-hand stalk.
The nose wheel is steered by the rudder pedals. Make sure you can see the rudder moving to confirm the pedals are being pressed.

- Is the AR/NWS light on?
- Do you have pedals?
- Is “Enable Roll-linked NWS” enabled under SETUP > CONTROLLERS > ADVANCED > VIEW CONTROL?
What .key file are you using? Copy and paste this line on your next reply…

- Well, if the AR/NWS light is not on, then NWS is not engaged. Press the Missile Step button or whatever key combination you’ve mapped to the SimMissileStep callback to make the light come on, then you’ll have NWS.
- Are the pedals mapped properly? Do you get rudder response in the air?
- I’m not sure if roll-linked NWS will work if you have a rudder set up properly, but this is moot if the AR/NWS light is not on

SimMissileStep -1 0 0x32 0 0 0 1 “STICK: NWS A/R DISC MSL STEP SWITCH”So, what have you mapped SimMissileStep to?
-
Roll-linked NWS requires that the rudder axis is ‘keyboard’ controller. You can still tick the checkbox I think but it won’t workie.
While it should be checked if the rudder is responding to the rudder axis, not being able to illuminate the NWS indication is problem numero uno. The question I guess is to really, really, really check if SimMissileStep is actually the command being triggered. If not then I’d investigate if SimMissileStep does its other non-NWS functions (AAR and changing missile selection and cycling CCRP-CCIP-DTOS).

ice, frederf……the big news is …nws is working now…i finally mapped to my joystick, ar/nws light is on and f16 is steering now, also if i did not get what was wrong exactly here…anyway solved.
THANKS VERY MUCH TO BOTH OF YOU GUYS
