BMS will not launch with Nvidia 3D profile enabled
-
I have just done a fresh install of BMS 4.33u4 to my SSD & launched successfully to set my options in the UI. I exited & set my 3D profile options in NVidia Control Panel & now BMS won’t launch - I get the first ‘launcher.exe’ screen but no Billionsoft splash screen when selecting ‘Launch’.
If I delete the 3D profile the sim launches as normal.
I’m running BMS 4.33-U4 in windowed UI & 3D at 1920x1080 on a Pentium G4620, 8GB DDR, EVGA GTX1060-SC with 390.65 drivers & latest GeForce Experience, Win10, Profile settings as below:
Worked fine last time I fired it up on my old HDD with a 3D profile enabled. That would have been on older drivers though.
Anyone have experience and a work-around for this?

Gotta love having to reply to your own thread…
I solved this issue by trawling through the ‘BMS crashes on launch’ threads, which weren’t much help as I wasn’t getting a crash report generated. I did see my problem described by a couple of other users so it was at least comforting to know I wasn’t alone. The few fixes that were suggested didn’t work, so I re-installed BMS, then reinstalled my video card drivers individualy instead of choosing the ‘express installation’ option, and testing the BMS launcher after each was completed. All good in the hood until I installed the NVidia HD Audio driver, then the launcher refused to play ball. I removed the driver & the sim launched normally. No biggie as I listen through a USB headset so the audio stream isn’t used on my graphics card.
I’m surmising that creating an Nvidia profile hooks BMS into using Nvidia sound drivers, which for whatever reason are no longer compatible.

I’m going to update this thread again, after once again having the non-start issue, I have uninstalled GeForce experience which I think had updated itself & this latest version has caused the issue to return.
So now I have only got the graphics card driver installed and BMS will run with a 3D profile. Unfortunately I’ve lost shadow play & the neat post-processing features I was enjoying using on other games so I may have to consider installing BMS on either a separate drive or new partition with a standalone install.

This is the best solution. For me the only solution.
