"Vocals": an open source voice recognition software
-
Hi guys!
I recently discovered this neat program, written by Henker92 as a free alternative to Voice Attack and the likes.
It is pretty minimalistic, doesn’t support sending DirectX commands and has got no real Push to Talk (you can only bind a toggle “start/stop recording” key). However, I found it more than adequate for my singleplayer Falcon needs, as I use it only for communication with AI wingmen, AWACS and tower. The link to the GitHub repository is this: https://github.com/Al-th/Vocals, while the direct download link is this: https://github.com/Al-th/Vocals/blob/master/Vocals/bin/Release/Vocals.exe?raw=true.
If anybody wants more info, the guy presented his program on reddit (https://www.reddit.com/r/EliteDangerous/comments/2eazs6/vocals_open_source_and_free_voice_attack_clone/) and the elite:dangerous forum (https://forums.frontier.co.uk/showthread.php/36846-Vocals-Free-Voice-Controlling-software).If anybody is interested in it, this: https://drive.google.com/open?id=1GJJTJDp1gBrvY0EN68EmKrJQDg8bAu_v is the link to the file containing the profile I’m using, which is a slightly modified (with less alternatives for many commands, as I’m too lazy to add them) conversion of the VAC profile by Darkman. You just need to put the “profiles_xml.vc” file in the same folder as “vocals.exe” before running the executable.
I hope what I’ve written is clear enough, and that it is useful for somebody!

The Windows-only audio speech recognition programs, they all use the same speech recognition libraries so they’re all equal in quality.
