Bms launches in low resolution (not menu)
-
Same, Just started today, have not played since windows update, this really stinks.
-
Bingo, thanks mate!

Same problem here. Think i found a solution. Try this. Right click Falcon BMS sortcut, select properties, then compatibility tab and then check Disable full screen optimizations. Then click OK and run Falcon BMS. Let me know if this worked for you.
This trick really works. Great thanks:clap2:

Double Thank You! (The Disable Full Screen Opt’s)

Same problem, no joy on proposed solution. Disabling full screen optimization results in 1 frame per 5 seconds… followed by “application has been blocked from accessing graphics hardware”
Any hope of this issue being sorted on either end, or do i look into making a dual boot system?
edit: updated to latest Insider build, still no-go.

Has anyone find solution? Delete dx9display.dsp does not change anything. When I do what clio16v suggested, falcon.exe process starts for one second and closes immediately. I do not even have a game loading screen (black).
Without changes in properties I can run game but in this tiny low resolution view.
My spec: Win10Pro x64, Intel i5, Radeon fury

I ended up reinstalling an older build of win 10…

Why? You can roll back the version in ‘recovery’ menu.

I have the same resolution problem after the last Windows 10 update. The solution of clio16v resolve the problem. Great clio16v!

Just to complete the post. Unfortunately, with the solution of clio16v, the Game bar of Win 10 no longer works in BMS. The update from Microsoft has made a mess.

Any idea if 4.34 will bring improvements in compatibility?

Even though with the way and speed Microsoft changes things…

The problem was solved as I Disable" full screen optimizations " ,thank you clio 16v!!!

well this full screen optimizations is a plague for W10.
Everywhere and everybody says to disable it.
There is an option to disable it globally for all apps cause in general it creates troubles.I don’t know why MS hasn’t opt a fix to make it initially globally disabled and troubles all the users…
but that’s ms… -
MS has been steadily moving away from the dynamic one size fits all development methodology to a more static but stable methodology. Well, they’re trying to move away anyway. The problem is MS is really good at providing legacy compatibility. So good in fact that if anything went wrong with an app Windows was able to automatically patch on the fly without the user noticing. It is likely that developers became too reliant on this “shim” architecture and why not? The code that worked yesterday still worked 10 years later. That is until MS started moving towards the stricter “windows app” methodology.
Since Windows 10, when MS started taking a hardline stance on encouraging (forcing) users to upgrade to the latest and greatest MS has been getting bitch slapped by the users and developers at every turn. They were pretty naieve to expect any other reaction. This is likely the reason that within one update everybodies FBMS resolution went to hell.
The old MS would have automatically provided a compatibility fix. The new MS snuck the per app “disable full screen optimization” fix in but chose not to apply it automatically. They can’t have it both ways. At least I hope they can’t.
*I wonder if it would be possible to launch the cockpit directly out of the BMS launcher via patch. It appears that the scaling transition from menu to cockpit at full screen is what is tripping up Windows 10.

Thanks clio16v you saved the day!!
