CTD after EVERY mission.
-
Hi all,
BMS 4.34 U2 Offline Rolling Thunder campaign Ace setting.I wonder if anyone can help? I CTD after every mission and don’t appear to get any credit for the mission. However, all the targets that were attacked appear to have gone when I click on autosave and reload the campaign. I got similar CTDs in U1 but dramatically reduced them by not shutting down the aircraft at mission end. This is not the case in U2 it seems. I have tried Ramp starts, Taxiway start and Runway. I have also tried Alt C-Q before quitting. Shutting down fully before quitting and also Not shutting down. Very occasionally it will shutdown normally for no apparent reason.
I always close the program between missions (or used to before the CTDs). No Crash Error logs are generated.
Apart from this issue, all is well and I’m really enjoying 4.34. My sincere thanks to all the team for this great sim.
TIA

Hi,
I finally went Nuclear, uninstalled and then reinstalled. Unfortunately to no avail! So I had a think. No one else seems to be suffering from this issue so its got to be me and something that I’m doing and I finally think that I have the solution.
In my haste to get to grips with the enemy hoards, I’m shortening the time to takeoff when I create the mission. If I intend to ramp start, down to around 7-8 minutes and taxi start, around 5 minutes. This from the default 20 mins. By retaining the default time to takeoff I have dramatically reduced the frequency of the CTDs.
Hope this can help someone if they are encountering similar issues.

Are you recording acmi by any chance? I think the application processes the acmi recording between you exit a mission and the map appears, sometimes it feels like it’s stuck there (it can take minutes to process a long recording, if I’m not mistaken).
Not sure if it’s related… -
Hi Desmoduke,
Thanks for the reply and suggestion. But no, I’m not recording acmi. I’m reasonably sure that the CTD is caused by my shortening the time to takeoff during mission creation. Since locking the takeoff time to the default 20 minutes, I have only experienced one CTD out of 4 or 5 campaign sorties. A big improvement over the 100% CTD rate I was experiencing.
