I bought tacview quite sometime ago thru a group buy with my wing. Can someone tell me how to distinguish between standard and advanced?
Disregard… just opened a tape and in the upper left corner it shows Tacview Advanced. Doh!

What about Real-time Telemetry for BMS?

What about Real-time Telemetry for BMS?
Already existing with shared memory data. I’m currently working on real time reading of acmi recording

Which means that the feature of Tacview regarding Real-time Telemetry works with BMS or not?

No not with Tacview as it requires a compiled acmi recording. But all the own A/C flightdata are available through shared memory viewer

Have we got any clue if it is going to work in Tacview for all A/C, human and AI controlled, in the near future?
-
Don’t know just from a technical point of view BMS writes the acmi recording data into a .flt file which differs in datastructure from a acmi file and therefore needs to be compiled.
My personal project at the Moment is to read that flt file in Real Time and read out and visualize on a map view. But it’s still in an very early WIP stage

Real-time telemetry is a complex operation with BMS. oakdesign has the right idea: the best way to do it is probably via the flt files.
I think this can be done, but this will require a lot of work because the format is completely different from the one from VHS files.
I hope Tacview will eventually support this feature with BMS, but this is still a long-term goal.
-
I currently know of at least one other person with a WIP Project reading flt files on the fly. My WIP is not to convert flt to acmi data format on the fly, but to get just object and positional data for a simple 2D view with the intend to allow multiple users to stream their data in order to create a HUMAN CGI.

We can certainly add the CVN-65 entry to the database. Can you provide a .vhs file with the CVN-65 in it?
@TGW:
Are there plans for other models to be displayed in TacView from Falcon 4 BMS (e.g., CVN-65 Enterprise carrier?)
Thanks in advance!
