@Buzzz ny news? from Mirage?
-
Looks like when you choose ramp in the Mirage you are unable to start the Jammer. Having used both the shortcut from the keyboard and the one from dunc’s profile (pinky + cms left) i’m unable to activate it. Power is on and act pwr is on but the light for the jammer is still off. Any ideas?
Sorry I haven’t visit this topic since a long time. I’m surprised Buzzz didn’t answer as we identified that since a long time (provided there’s no keymap change ).
Effectively there’s no switch in the cockpit, for the moment we need to use the shortcut [shift ctrl F9].
I precised that in our work in progress check-list : http://www.veaf.org/fr/telechargement/category/1-documentation-aigles .
It is in french at the moment but I think it is useable for a french aircraft lover  .
Will be an english version later.
Some items for after engine startup are not matching in cockpit labels, it can be a litle bit confusing. In fact it is matching Mirage 2000 cockpit diagrams you can find in BMS doc folder. I have to see with Buzzz if we could update these diagrams so that it become more coherent between 3D pit, pit diagrams, and checklist. If another Mirage 2000 fan is interested in contributing to that checklist project, good willing is always welcome in Mirage 2000 brother universe :).
At the moment we are more particularly working on charts for Vr and Vlof values depending on loadout.I’m also working on another Mirage 2000 project for BMS, I think people interested in that aircraft should appreciate :). Hope to giving news in the two coming weeks :).

MIRAGE!!! Sorry, bumping this one :uham:
-
Sorry for the lack of answers. I haven’t had much time for the Mirage lately. Will post when something new comes.

Quick question: who made the Mirage 2000 models available in FreeFalcon 5? Weren’t the work of the late Olivier ‘BPAo’ Anguille - also available for the SF2 series by The Mirage Factory?
Who holds copy/IP rights over those models?
-
BPAo is dead, as you may know.
God only knows who holds the rights.PS : may I ask why you wonder?
-

the late Olivier ‘BPAo’ Anguille
Yes, I’m perfectly aware that he passed away, that’s why I’m wondering who holds IP rights over his work now that he’s gone.
God only knows who holds the rights.
Any ideas other than heavenly wisdom?
PS : may I ask why you wonder?
Just wondering. No harm meant by purely asking.
-
Sorry, I have no idea. Maybe he gave the rights to FF.
Don’t take my questions like an attack. I just want to prevent you from doing the same error as I did.
I have used “his” (BPAo) 2000D model as a template for some parts in mine (the general shape of the wings to be precise). I have never been directly in contact with him but with a “common friend”. In the late development of my own model, I have had troubles with this “friend”, thinking I was stealing all BPAo’s work, and I had to supply my 3D files to cross check, etc… In the end it appeared that there was a third name behind this model who is Barbsman from the AdA mod (Lockon mod). He told me that he was the original modeler for the model I got from the “friend” and that there was no problem to use it for reference (in fact, the model was not usable as is in falcon) and that cooperation was welcome.
So, in the end, who to believe? the “friend” or the guy from the AdA mod?
Even if the “friend” later admitted that my model was much different from the other one, this experience has been a real pain for me. And for that reason I have chosen to do the Mirage 2000-C 100% my original work to avoid any future fight.
So, my advice is : Think twice before asking someone to use his work, even if it’s only as reference. Your honor may suffer.BTW, if you can wait until next BMS update, you might find the single seater in it. If you want, I can even give you my template. I’d be happy to see you make the default skin set and use it officially in BMS. I’m a modeler, not a skinner.

Please forgive me, my friend. I was under the impression that you were being overtly aggressive towards me, ever since the ‘photoreal landing gear’ discussion in my Mirage 2000 skinning project thread. Now I realise I was the one acting defensively (unjustifiably so).
I have always held you in highest regard for all the work you’ve done (and continue doing) integrating the Mirage 2000 into Falcon for the enjoyment of us all and that’s not about to change. So please, accept my sincere apologies.

Thank you for that honest account and words of wisdom.

Consider it done!
I’ll be sending you the Armée de l’Air version of the Mirage 2000D in the next couple of days, hopefully to be included in the next release

No problem. Communication over the forums is not always easy.
Regarding the landing gear doors, I didn’t notice the change at first glance, because I have corrected this on the single seater, and didn’t remember it isn’t on the 2000-D.
Great to read about a new skin for the AdlA. Did you stay in 2048^2 or have you tried to go up to 4096^2 to see the impact on performance? -
I haven’t noticed any negative impact on performance using 4,096^2 files (that’s the format I’ve been working with).
-
Good to know. And for the decals, have you increased the size too?
-
Has anybody seen, not my baby, but Buzzz? I can’t reach him, not by PM, Messenger or whatever. Is he still working on the Mirage 2000C?
Here’s my latest update on the French Armée de l’Air skin:
Is this project still alive or what?
-
Give Mirage 2000 to the people!!!
-
Hi guys. Sorry for my lack of presence the last couple of months. I will try to end my 2012 break as the year ends.
There has been no progress on my side since my last update. I’ll keep you in the loop.PS : Chris, I haven’t seen any message or anything on MSN or by PM since May.
-
Not yet? Long time for a model right?
-
What is your problem?
I haven’t worked on the model since the beginning of the year. Can I have my own real life ?
Should I tell you how much time I have spent the last few year for people like you to enjoy BMS?
