Matric: Android app to create panels on tablet with buttons and switches
-
Hello pilots!
some time ago I was searching on the web for Android Tablet applications that let me create my own virtual buttons an send commands to Falcon.
Something like the Android version of Stream Deck.I found several applications that can do the job (both free or requiring a small payment).
The most interesting, in my opinion, is “MATRIC PC Control” (https://matricapp.com). It can send commands to the active window and simulate keypresses. The free edition is limited to six keys on one page. Additional features (like unlimited buttons and pages) can be unlocked under payment, depending on the function that you want. It has nice features like:
- the pc-side software manages the wifi connection and commands coming from the tablet, but also provides an easy-to use graphical user interface to create pages and buttons for your profiles (called “Deck”).
- some templates with buttons and switches for flight simulation are available.
- There is a community of users that share decks on the internet Matric site (some of them for DCS and MFS2020) and a dedicated blog. You can find also good ICPs that can be easily modified for Falcon.
- a virtual touchpad can be added to a deck and I discovered that this function can be useful to operate switches in the Viper cockpit.
- the app is also able to receive information from the pc and display them in your deck.
NOTE ON INSTALLATION OF THE PC-SERVER SOFTWARE:
after the first installation, the icon appeared on the desktop, but clicking on it the program refused to start. If you have the same problem delete the folder Documents/.matric (note the dot).
I found this solution reading the blog of the community.Thank you to the developers of this application!!! Hope this discovery will be useful for someone else.
Cheers.

I suggest Helios in combination with spacedesk as a better solution as it is bi directional. So not only allows it to send keystrokes from the tablet to BMS but also synchronize back.
So i.e Autopilot switch which might automatically disengage. With Helios this change in button state could be synced back to the tabletGesendet von meinem SM-G930F mit Tapatalk

Helios on tablets? is there an android app?
-
No, i am currently making a few of my old tablets work with Helios, using spacedesk, this turns the tablets to external monitors…then you can use helios. @oakdesign gave me the details in another post …touch screen section.

Why? If you don’t like space desk to use Helios on a tablet you vs also use DuetDisplay

I’m using DuetDisplay for years on Mac and Windows without any issues and for testing with multiple devices now spacedesk as well. So maybe that’s only an issue on your side as all users i guided into that direction recently didn’t report any issues so far.
I wouldn’t recommend it if I haven’t it tested souroughly and differnent systems
And by the way spacedesk i the latest version is completely different from the underlying technique used than version before 10/2020 they changed the system design completely -
Can the DCS ICP & MFD deck be use for BMS ?
