Unsolved Throttle reverse issue
-
Took delivery of a Thrustmaster TWCS today with the intention of using it right handed. In order to keep the now new forward to go faster motion, I needed to reverse the throttle axis, which is with a single click of the reverse button in throttle axis setup. Unfortunately in BMS 4.37.1, it messes up the throttle input in the 3D world. It results in max throttle at both ends of travel, with about 60% throttle in the middle. The visual of the throttle in the cockpit confirms this. I tried a control test using my Cyborg Evo joystick throttle, and the issue is repeatable with it. Ergo, I can only come to the conclusion that it is a bug as it is not limited to the Thrustmaster. All visual indications of the axis both in Microsoft setup and within the game setup give no indication that there is any issue with motion.

@jagfour you’ll have to re-establish the AB- and idle-detents, after reversing throttle axis … they don’t “swap” automatically

Yes eventually after the bug has been fixed.

Don’t tell me there’s a kin manual that explains all that.
In the 25 years I have had this game, I have never had to set the idle. I was setting the AB but not the idle. Thanks for your help. -
@jagfour yep, support for reversible-throttle was new in 4.36 … it’s a little rough still
my VKB has programmable firmware… I ended up swapping the axis direction at that level, so I don’t have to deal

I swapped my self-made joystick PCB with a bluepill/freejoy one and experienced more or less the same. Throttle would go out of idle cut-off, but then return to idle cut-off after 10% power while physically I was continuing pushing into afterburner.
Reversing the axis in firmware solved it.
And another guy I fly with had the same with his (purchased) throttle. Invert button not allowing to use the full throttle range.
I guess it has to do with the AB and idle cut-off limits not being compatible with negative numbers or being ordered inverse.
