Video Stuttering After Looking down in Pit
-
This just started happening…once I launch a training mission and I am in the 3D cockpit, severe video stuttering starts. Until today this has been running smooth as silk. Must be another setting that changed with the U2 update. Any clues what to look at?
My system runs an I9 10980XE and Nvidia 3090. I use TrackIR Have not seen any issues at all til now. Thought it might be the RTT client or the WDP kneeboards but eliminiated those as the cause.

@Machtoo OK, I searched and read older posts on Falcon BMS. The one thing I found that I tried and it worked was unclicking the HDR box in Shaders in the configurator. Why this just became an issue I have no clue but unclicking this restored the frame rates…no stuttering.
If anyone has any info on the HDR setting and this issue would appreciate it for personal knowledge. Thanks

@Machtoo More details about repro? (Which training? Which jet? Ramp/Taxi start? what monitor(s) resolution and frame rate)
As a sanity check, try turning it back on, verify the problem recurs… and then turn it back off again?
I don’t know any case where the g_bHdrLighting feature has much perf impact (maybe 2ms per frame) especially with a RTX 3090.
It would be interesting to learn if this feature causes problems, for some systems… and explore why.

@airtex2019 I will see if it is reproducible.

@airtex2019 While working on a Helios stuttering issue with MFD extractions and gauges I came across this post searching for something related. The HDR setting is surely doing something in the background that is causing some issue. I had HDR checked and when I unchecked it the Helios stuttering issues disappeared.
Here is the other thread for reference.
