Unsolved Missing Taxiways
-
I recently reinstalled BMS and am experiencing an issue with missing taxiways/taxiway terrain.
When doing the landing exercise, I can land on the runway just fine but the taxiways leading from the runway are missing as are the terrain tiles for the hangars and parking areas.
I have reinstalled BMS twice and each time I get the same error. I know that my antivirus software is quarantining the 3_dbb exe file during installation. Even though I restore the exe from the antivirus quarantine, the taxiway and road tiles are still missing.
Is there any fix for this without having to try reinstalling BMS again? Thanks!

What theater/airfield? Got a picture perhaps?

Training Landing mission, so KTO. Seems like a botched install due to antivirus.
@Mosquitoe Which folder are you installing to (some folder paths should be avoided) ?
-
@razo , I’m installing a stock BMS installation, no add-ons or additional theaters. I’ll post a screenshot
-
@jayb I’m installing to C:\

I think it’s not enough to restore that exe – that exe is actually run during install – to unpack/generate many of the tiles and textures.
I think most folks with troublesome AV, have to define an exclusion-rule for ‘C:\Falcon BMS 4.37’ before kicking off the install.

@airtex2019 , thanks, that’s a great idea. Rather than write exclusions for specific files, I can protect the full folder from having any file being quarantined

@airtex2019 , in the end, I turned off real-time scanning in my AV for 15 minutes while I reinstalled BMS. As soon as that was done, I wrote an exclusion rule for the whole BMS folder. Fired up BMS, and all the taxiways appeared as normal!
Thanks @airtex2019 @jayb @razo
