Mitsubishi F-1/T-2
-
@Aragorn To be honest, I after I make the three liveries (should be quick, same pattern), I am thinking to make Mitsubishi T-2 :
Operational squadron training unit : 3rd TFSQ / Misawa Airbase
Operational squadron training unit : 6th TFSQ / Tsuiki Airbase
Flight instruction group (Aggressor) / Komatsu airbase

Hello !
I think, we are good for weathering ! What do you think ?

Hello,
sometimes, when we have something in mind…
After some little modifications, here it T-2 !
As this is a multiversion aircraft, 95% of the aircraft is shared… So, I will release both for v1.0, I think !
Looks good, I am happy !
Of course, this is just a quick first render. I will then work canopy frames, interior cockpits etc…
Stay tuned !

Dual-pit a/c are so cool… : )

This is better than the BMS screenshot thread…!
I could just look at these Japanese A/C all day and be content.
Thank you, ラジウム君

@Aragorn you will be even happier when you will see liveries I will offer !

Hello everyone !
I haven’t updated for a while, because you know what ? I was hardworking !
Basically, F-1 and T-2 models are on the final line.
I am now working on the last structure lines, and details, as much as possible.
I spent a lot of time on T-2, to make a perfect model.
And…
I think we have it !
Sadly, Imgur compresses pictures, and you can’t have a good resolution.
Staty tuned !

Hello !
What’s new here ;
Basically, We are very close from a release status for Mitsubishi F-1 :
I just finished custom fuel tanks, and also, I managed to have main undercarriage doors opened when aircraft is at ramp, to simulate accessibility for technician (most ramp F-1 pictures are like that).
Today, I also spent a lot of time to adjust weathering, and also little name tags, that are painted all over the plane.
Maybe you don’t see the difference with what I shown up recently, but I can tell you that there is more and more little details that enhance the experience !
I also reworked some smoothing, to have something perfect.
Right now, I want to work a bit more gears legs, as they are a bit too white.
Stay tuned, I have to go now with my best friend to sushi restaurant !
Enjoy reading,

Hello,
trying some high pass processing, to enhance global texture :
You can see that between colors, there is some automated painting opacity simulation (I know it’s tiny). It kinda simulates automatically and with a perfect homogeneity the weathering of the painting.
Stay tuned !

One of the nicest I’ve seen.

Hello,
Mitsubishi F-1 model and 3 first textures are now completed.
Here is Tactical Meet 96 livery (I really like this one). It is fully custom, with accurate serials and tail kanjis (thanks to my friend @chihirobelmo for his help !)
More to come… One last livery to be done (full grey), and I will move to Mitsubishi T-2 liveries !
Still a long way to go !

@Radium looks awesome!
-
@Radium - fantastic work. Your work has a real tangible look to it which really adds to the effect.
-
@Radium: Hey! Probably a dumb question: but, why is the roundel on the three-tone green skin just a red “meatball” whereas the roundel on the previous skin includes a white border? Wouldn’t they tend to be the same?
-
The kanji ROCKS…!!!
Awesome, Radium.

Hello,
Thank you so much ! I created some specific technics to simulate PBR on my texturse. So, it has a better looking that what we usually find
I am right now creating the grey livery. As you can see (no render here, just texture itself), some nice metal effect was generated (don’t ask me how I do it, it’s my personal secret) Then, I can adjust it, and make a realistic livery.
Well, I am not so sure. During second world war, IJA and later IJN fighter aircraft were often painted green, and roundels didn’t had any white parts for some of them :
During Tactical Meet 96, Mitsubishi F-1 were painted with a green camouflage, a bit alike WII. With the help of my friend @chihirobelmo that was able to help me to understand the meaning of kanjis on low quality graphics, tail arts were painted with some unusual words on them, such as : 維新 (Restauration - refering to Meiji Era) or 天誅 (Punishment from the Skies), which has a rather warrior meaning. (These Kanjis are all made on my liveries, linked with licenseplates).
From these findings, I guess that they wanted to make a little tribute to IJA and IJN pilots.
That being said, it’s my personal feeling, I may be wrong.

Hello,
I wanted to post something.
While doing the full grey livery, I had an issue with the base texture : some of the weahering was adapted to the camoflage. As I didn’t wanted to rework my existing weathering, I had to rebuild a lot, from a bare metal texture.
As you know, without PBR support, it’s almost impossible to have a good render.
Nevertheless, I did something pretty convincing, for Mitsubishi T-2 (not a final livery).
When the first Mitsubishi T-2 were delivered to JASDF, they had a bare metal livery, like this one, at 6th TFSQ of Tsuiki :
On the second screenshot, you really have a nice render. Reminds me formation take-off, long time ago, in real life
Stay tuned !
