Solved Afterburner goes on both ways on throttle after 4.37.3 installation
-
I’ve looked through this forum and tried the solutions put forth by others but this problem is still rearing its’ ugly head.
Afterburner on F-16 goes on when I move the throttle to IDLE and also when moved forward into AFTERBURNER. It mostly goes off when I center the throttle. Started immediately after I upgraded to .3.
I’m using the Alt-Launcher to set things up. I have a Virpil Mongoos T-50CM3 with the 5 way modifier for my throttle and a Virpil 50CM3 Flight Base along with a Constellation Alpha Prime. After I started having this problem I upgraded the firmware on both, re-calibrated them and did a clean install of 4.37.3.
I’m not sure how things should be set in SETUP inside the game when I use the alt-launcher. I’m probably not configuring something correctly, and it might be simple.
I could sure use some help!
Thanks

I have prepared a daily build of AL with about 12 bugfixes post U3… including now, better support for single- and dual-throttle devices with reverse-direction axes.

I had the same problem. Go into your Virpil software and select “inversion” for each throttle. Let me know if it works for you.

@mbarry a fix is in progress but will be a few days. I will post a beta build soon, for any Virpil owners who want to help test.
What I would try, in meantime…
Option A: use Virpil software to un-reverse your throttle axis
if that is not workable or desirable…
Option B:
-
Start by doing all of your axis and button setup in Alt Launcher.
-
Once in BMS, re-configure your throttle axis/axes and detents, to work properly. Click ‘save’ or ‘apply’
-
Exit BMS and navigate to your User/Config folder, in Windows – make a backup copy of your axismapping.dat and joystick.cal files
-
Until we get AL fixed… launch BMS directly via the exe. (from the /bin/x64 subfolder) You can make yourself a desktop shortcut, with any command-line params you like … eg
"Falcon BMS.exe" -window -nomovie -vr
-
Before each BMS session… or at least, anytime after using AL… replace the axismapping.dat and joystick.cal files with the versions you saved away in step 3.

@Dracfalcon It doesn’t work. The rY axis checkbox for Inversion was already checked, the rX was unchecked. When I checked them both I would only get 50% of the movement of the axis. Undoing this restored it to 100%. (And, for a while here, I was only getting 92% of the axis movement in the Virpil software, which is really odd.)
How should I have the SETUP in the sim itself in the controllers section? Here’s a screenshot…
I appreciate your help. If anything, solving this will make me learn the Virpil software.

@airtex2019 Let me know if I can help beta test. I’m just learning this sim, but would be glad to help if I can.

Interesting. In the Virpil software, it showed 100% throttle movement for me. From your photo, it looks like you are setting your throttle through the “in-game” setup. Have you tried through the “Alt Launcher”? I do not use the setting page you are using.

@Dracfalcon I do set my throttle using the AL. I just don’t know how to configure this section - or if I should configure it at all.
