Solved BMS 4.37.3.0 Update Alt Launcher Error Messages
-
Updated 4.37.2.0 with 4.37.3.0 down load. When AL was launched two error messages were displayed:
Error 1: "Unknown problem check error log for details, %localappData%\Benchmark_Sims Launcher-Log.TXT
System.10.InvalidDataException Unexpected line in Keyfile: SimdoNothing -1 0 OXFFFFFFFF 000 -2 “============HOTAS U”Error 2: %LocalAppData%\Benchmark-Sim\Launcher-Log.txt
System.NullReference Exception Object reference not set to an instance of an objectAfter selecting “OK” AL stops running.
Launched 4.37.30 using traditional method, completed keymapping the old way and 4.37.3.0 launched with
FALCON BMS 4.37.3.0 (x64) Build 1329 noted on the opening screen.
What do I need to do to restore AL functionality? -
@Tiger78 the latest (post-U3) build of AL fixes the first problem… probably the second one too
https://github.com/chihirobelmo/FalconBMS-Alternative-Launcher/releases/tag/v2.4.1.4can you paste the Launcher-Log.txt contents into https://pastebin, and send me the link? I’ll take a look to make sure.

@airtex2019
Could not locate Launcher-LogTxt.
Downloaded Falcon BMS _Alternate_Launcher_V 2.4.1.4_Release Zip.
Unzipped and replaced “Launcher File” in Falcon BMS 4.37 .
Error messages gone and Alt Launcher functioning as expected.
Launched 4.37.3 using AL…all 3D functions working!
Thanks for the help! -

@Tiger78 Norton does not like the Alt launcher exe. So much so that it removes it. Can you investigate please.

Seems like 1 vendor, MaxSecure, is raising a red flag … I don’t know how to get details from them. From a quick google search it sounds like other devs are reporting false-positives, and have narrowed it down to use of auto-update libraries.
It is true that AL contains an auto-update library (https://github.com/ravibpatel/AutoUpdater.NET/) … although we haven’t used that in quite some time – not since AL began shipping within BMS. If it’s causing more harm than good, we can look at removing it.
Let me know if Norton gives you any details…

@Tiger78 Thanks for reply Tiger78, but you could check if your file has not been hacked with a virus. You never know these days.

@airtex2019 Hi, I have tried to look at Nortons report. All it says is the issue is gone. Not helpful at all. I will try other routes but my knowledge is not that great if any at all.

I tried updating the alt launcher files but i am still getting the error.https://pastebin.com/ZdahQKMe

@ushijinx one of your xml files is corrupt, or empty, or broken somehow.
if you know which one it is … probably easiest course is to delete it and recreate those axis/button-bindings.
if you have a ton of xml files in User/Config and don’t know … feel free to zip them up and share them to me … I can take a look
(I’ll improve the error-logging to record the filename.)
